PortugalWe loved our stay at the Hotel Alp. The hotel was very beautiful, located in a very quiet area, perfect for resting. The room we were assigned had a balcony with an amazing view and the bathroom was very large. Breakfast had a lot of variety and the scrambled eggs were especially great.

IsraelThe host was exceptionally warm and happy to assist with any question, including drawing us a travel route we needed. I was truly glad to stay with such a kind and pleasant person.
The room we received was clean, quiet, and tidy, and just a short walk from the town center.
The shared bathroom and shower were clean, spacious, and well-organized, with plenty of warm and pleasant water.
The room is on the ground floor, so there's no need to carry suitcases upstairs, and the nearby parking makes everything very convenient!

Everything was excellent and we would definitely stay again. Check-in: hours are limited so make sure to arrive between those hours. The staff are very friendly and provided us with great information on nearby walks and hikes suitable for winter. The staff were also responsive to our messages via booking.com in advance of our trip. Apartment: The apartment was extremely clean and the bed was really comfy. The bathroom was nice with a huge sink and powerful shower. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed; we had read some reviews and were not sure what would be there when we arrived, some said they didn't even have a kettle. But we had everything we needed - actually even more than we needed :) - pots, pans, roasting dishes, kettle, coffee maker, even things like a cheese grater and kitchen scissors, and all of it was extremely clean. Location: lovely mountain views, a short downhill walk in to town, plenty of grass around (important when travelling with a dog :)). The town of Bovec is lovely. Apparently extremely busy in the summer. Small supermarket in town or a short drive to something bigger. We were there in the off-season (between Christmas and New Year) and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Great walks/hikes directly from the apartment or a short drive. All walks in the area are very well sign posted. Beautiful sightseeing (e.g. Slap Virje, Velika Korita). Parking: plenty of parking and free right outside the apartment.Guest review bySteph FAustria

The apartment was fully equipped with all the kitchenware that allowed us to prepare all the meals in the apartment. We really enjoyed the free Finnish sauna after an intensive day of skiing. There is also a super nice free playroom in the basement where kids were safely playing allowing us to have some free-time. Ski conditions were perfect, nice snow and no crowds at all. Kobarid is a nice little town situated on Soča river between Tolmin and Bovec. There are numerous possibilities of outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, paragliding, kayaking or simply taking a dip in stunningly turquoise Soča. Great location for walking, rafting, kayaking etc. It's a pretty town centre with two small supermarkets, and two big ones just on the edge of town. The cable car isn't working right now - might be a while before it is back in action. But the Soca River has to be seen to be believed - just amazing. The local tourist office were really helpful too. The range of restaurants is a bit limited - burgers seem to be the common theme - but the quality is great, if not the variety!! Kobarid is a nice town by the river Soca with only cca 1000 inhabitants, but as a regional center the town serves a cca 5000 heads strong community. Worth to visit the Kobarski Muzej (WWI museum), the town center with the church, restaurants and very very good ice cream. Do not miss to climb up to the church and Italian monument, check out the Napoleonov most (Napoleon's bridge) and the Slap Kozjak (Kozjak waterfall). These are all accessible on foot. You can also take a tour following a marked hiking trail, see the beautiful nature, the mountains, the emerald color of the Soca river, historical monuments line WWI trenches and forts all along the river.
