Be prepared: Istanbul is BIG = the 4th biggest city in the world. This is worth considering when you are planning your journey from and to the airports. Again, the culture of the city is 'big'. Lots to see, hustle and bustle, but there are cultural gems tucked in amongst the must-see sights, such as Pandeli restaurant above the Spice Market - opened in 1902. If you have the time, try to get away from the historic/tourist centre for half a day - go to spend time in a more local area, such as Moda and the surrounding areas on the coast on the Asian side. The tourist must-sees include the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Basilica Cistern. If you have been thinking whether you should go to Istanbul, the answer is a resounding yes. Corlu is fine but not a tourist place. I was visiting friends. You are asking all these things but give no possibility of actually talking to you to get the problems we had sorted. Nature walks, a lot of nice places to enjoy the beautiful scenery of valleys and mountains, Sapancha is a very nice place to spend a couple of good long days with the family and kids or with your partner. People are friendly and the cafes and shops along the commercial streets are good. The walk along the Sea of Marmara is great - enjoy the sun and the vibrancy. We were there for 'medical tourism' reasons and that was satisfactory.
