Karatu is a good base for Safaris and smaller excursions.
Karatu is a good base for Safaris and smaller excursions. The village itself hasn't much to offer (or at least the eastern side). There is a KFC though; Karatu Fried Chicken, which has very delicious chicken. A little further to the east is Mto Wa Mbu. Karatu offers resorts and staycations through a range of properties. Make sure they are at least 2Kms or more from town, as the town area is too dusty especially during dry season.
