First of, the hotel is very modern and designed with attention to every details. The rooms are very spacious and cosy. The beds were supercomfy with high quality linnen. Breakfast is a la carte and the choices and quality were amazing. We really enjoyed the free morning yoga classes with Agnes. It's a few minutes to the beach, but they provide a free shuttle service. However, the pool area is very relaxing and you could order food&drinks. Lastly, but not least, all the staff were superfriendly and trained in hospitality. We had high expectations with a 9,7 rating, but they managed to exceed it. Don't hesitate, this is a gem.

In a quiet tranquil part of Jambiani, great for relaxing. Room is spacious, bed comfortable, black out curtains. Basic but clean bathroom. Large balcony, shaded with furniture. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Beach is clean and safe with no hassle. Swimming possible at high tide in morning and afternoon. Breakfast is very plentiful and the dining area very pleasant with cooling sea breeze. We had a very enjoyable stay and wish it could have been longer.

AMAZING! Breakfast was amazing, a lot of food and very tasteful. Anna is great host, reliable and she will do anything for you. Very warm person. Also, they clean every day, it is very clean. The bed is comfortable, and the stuff is friendly. We went with the baby, it was great with him.

Everything was great, but especially the breakfast and coffee were the best. I'm traveling across Africa, and it was the most impressive coffee I've ever had in Africa. The rooms are modernly designed and really comfortable to relax in, and the air conditioner works well so the room is cool. The owner lends a reusable water bottle for free to reduce plastic waste, and you can fill it with mineral water every day. The road to the beach is about a 10-minute walk, but you can get closer by figuring out how to get there through town. Highly recommended.

    The biggest 2 trumps of Mahali Zanzibar were the location and most importantly, the people! Firstly, it's located in the middle of everything, right on the beach and in the middle of Paje beach overlooking the ocean, just a few min walk away from the little market and grocery store. Secondly, the staff in Mahali - every single one of them was such a sweetheart! They were very welcoming and so personal and that in the most positive meaning of this word. People were always smiley, positive and always ready to help whenever you needed it. What's more, the place itself is really nice and clean as well and as I already said it had a nice view over the beach. The room was super spacious. They made our beds, changed towels and cleaned the room every day. This is all really nice! However, more of a luxury. We would have been totally fine with the same towels since it would be better to save water :D But all in all I don't whine.. The only thing that was little funny, not that it was something I did not like, but I was not used to this, was the breakfast. The food itself was delicious and you were able to order literally everything you wanted from the menu, but the way it was organised was strange. We knew that the breakfast was included in the stay, but they did not explain how does it work, if I was able to order a specific amount of items from the menu or there was no limit. Maybe this is something I would recommend them to rethink or at least explain to guests. After we understood though, we just ordered almost everything from the menu every morning. Just the first interaction with the staff at the breakfast table was funny. :)

    I loved everything about this property. Starting from the staff, who were absolutely amazing to the food served in the restaurant. The atmosphere was very relaxing and even though you are literally at the beach, you still feel secluded being surrounded by all the beautiful palm trees. The pool was just perfect and though I am 100% beach person, I still found myself in the pool a few times a day :) Loved my room overlooking the pool and all the details that have been so carefully considered to make one's stay as comfortable as possible.

    It's a wonderful place. The bungalows are awesome. A bit dark inside, but the atmosphere is great... white sand everywhere, thus you need flip-flops or similar only if you go outside the area for some trip. People are very friendly and helpful; you can completely switch off and enjoy your vacation in a wonderful place. This time did a lot of trips to enjoy the island, but next time, we will just come directly to this resort and don't move; just enjoying relaxing and refreshing mind and body.

    Everyone was super helpful and treated us very well. We were welcomed very Well by MR Said from guest relations. We felt heard and listened to and felt the staff cared about our experience. They have these stairs at the jetty which highlighted our whole trip there coz it was just so easy to sit by the ocean and chill without being scared . The photos do no justice to this place . It’s above and beyond anything we have been to and we have been to some big 5stars in Zanzibar

    The beach was 10m from our room and the complex had a little private area perfect for relaxing and chatting with friends. The host was amazing, so kind and ready to help, and he allowed us to go fishing with his father, which was just a wonderful experience. He made us dinner and a bonfire on the beach for one of the nights!

    Jerry is a wonderful Location next to the beach. We stayed there for 4 days and enjoyed it The staff was very helpful and supportive. The rooms are nice and clean. And Jambiani is a nice and quiet place to stay. Next time I would go there again.

    I loved that it was a proper reflection of the Island in that you took home the beauty of the place and kindness of the people. It was not loud or noisy and had very few touristy hotels and vendors hassling you

    This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten...

    This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

    Beautiful beach, warm and calm ocean to swim in. Lots of eating options, amazing people. Yes, there are people trying to sell you things on the beach - but was quieter than other beaches (Like Paje) and they are all respectful.

    Paje is a very awesome and lively place to visit. As a solo traveller, I had no difficulty looking for activities, places to eat, or party, since they were all around. Definitely a place to visit over and over again

    beautiful beach!!!!

    beautiful beach!!!! However not the best beach for bathing because when is lower tide you simply have to walk to much for a swim. beach in the north are better if you have kids. Much more quiet than Page and less windy as well. Very safe neighborhood with nice restaurants.

    Paradise …Jim’s, Salim, Irene and Juliane were exceptional always ready to help. They just couldn’t do enough for you. The reception staff especially Yusef were very accommodating especially as we arrived very early from Dar-es-Salam! They let us drop our bags and enjoy all the facilities until our room was ready! We had a wonderful stay in Paradise.

    Just up the beach from Paje town, a little quieter but thats what was nice. Wandered to different restaurants along the beach for lunch and dinner. Limited during off season but enough open. We came via Dar Es Salaam airport and ferry. If you can't get an e-visa before arrival, plan 2hrs to exit the airport. We missed our booked ferry and had to pay again for the last ferry on a different company. Used Zanzibar Quest to book the ferry and transport with exemplary service and support via whatsapp and email. The new travel insurance requirement $50p/p on top of the $50p/p visa fee is a scam that mars the experience. The amount of times we had to show our passport and visa / travel insurance was reminiscent of the cold war. Inefficient and overboard. So if you can fly direct to Zanzibar and use e-visa or have patience and a loose schedule. The drive to the Page beach area took about 1 ½ hrs with the first ⅓ taking ¾ of the time with a typical african road experience. Get a good driver. Driving licenses are issued by testing payment of fee. The driver booked by Zanzibar Quest was excellent. Great beach, wind was consistent during the afternoon to either kite or cool down. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Not a fan of the immigration process or the fees.

    I've been in Makunduchi before and if you don't want to be in the tourist hotspot it is great! The beach is fantastic (but be aware of the low and high tides). I would recommend arranging for a driver to get around as there are many great places to visit and you shouldn't stay put in just one place.
