This property is a self-contained oasis on the beachfront. The hosts Claus & Halle are very hospitable and welcoming. They helped us with advice on local travel and we were able to join a beautiful snorkelling trip on their dhow. All the food is fresh and locally caught or made by Halle and the local chefs, even the coffee is freshly roasted and ground. Decor is lovely and reflects the hosts’ lifetime of work & travel in Africa.

This property was very clean and comfortable and in a peaceful suburb of Tanga. If you don’t mind a walk you can easily walk to the beach or to Tanga centre. The rooms and bed were very comfortable and the communal garden area was very pleasant. They have a fridge where you can store your own things but also sell soft drinks. Breakfast is provided. Hotel is extremely safe and secure and very peaceful. Staff will help you a lot.

We spent three days in Mawe Mawili swimming between the mangrove trees, chilling by the sea in the numerous shady spots, enjoying Hamis' delicious food and wandering on the beach and the villages juste nearby. We booked a tent but we were upgraded in a cabin, which was very confortable and beautiful, all wood-made with hand-made decoration. Fabian who manages the place was extremely nice and we had an amazing time thanks to him, Hamis and Ali.
