Our second stay so future visits we’ll always choose Hollywood Beachside Boutique Suites. Cute rooms with basic kitchenettes (utensils and cooking supplies) or mini frig and microwave. Comfy bed and linens. Very short walk (couple minutes) to the beach and Hollywood Boardwalk, Nice pool and multiple outdoor patios to enjoy. Free use of beach towels and chairs. $12 parking is cheapest in the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk area. Tons of restaurants close by and Fort Lauderdale and Miami are easy drives away. Just a beautiful place! The staff is friendly and beyond helpful. Let us upgrade to a studio for a reasonable fee when we checked in. The AC was acting up the second night and after maintenance couldn’t fix it we were moved to another lovely room for the night. The price is affordable and very reasonable compared to other properties and the parking fee is only $12 a day compared to other hotels charging $20+ or requiring ridiculous expensive street parking. I had to work in Hollywood the day of checkout. Instead of booting my girlfriend out, the front desk staff allowed her to borrow some towels and beach chairs, enjoy the outdoor areas, beach and leave the rentals car parked while I finished up with my client. I really appreciated the hospitality and kindness of the gesture. Beyond impressed with the staff and service we received! Great communication and friendly helpful people! Not the best experience. No wake up call and I had to catch a plane. No computer to print boarding passes. It cost me $50.00 at the airport to get them. If I knew that the hotel couldn't print them, I would have stayed at a different place. Defective faucets in kitchen and bath. Defective electrical outlet in bathroom. Unsafe shower (No hand rails. The one they had was falling off). Room was clean and good bed. Sparse breakfast, broken waffle maker. The house is spacious and clean, with enough bedrooms and other amenities that make it perfect. Plenty of plates, cookware, and utensils. The host even left us some welcome beverages in the fridge. The patio was amazing with enough seating for loads of people. My grandkids especially loved the saltwater pool. I would highly recommend a stay at this house with these amazing hosts. I stayed in the Heron complex of Vacation Villages.
I stayed in the Heron complex of Vacation Villages. Registration is in an entirely different part of Weston; then inadequate directions are given to drive to the room. I had to return to the registration office three times (at night) for clarity. Staff seemed indifferent. They didn't even mention my room was on a different street! Other guests commented they also had trouble finding their room. Heron I is more like an old run-down hotel suite, rather than an apartment. The stone flooring was quite damaged. There was no stove, oven or dishwasher, not even a dishpan to wash dishes in. There was a bad sugar-ant infestation. Ants got in my electronics! At least 12 ants crawled into a glass of tea left overnight on the counter. The bathtub is a SAFETY HAZARD no grips anywhere. You've been warned, Vacation Villages. The toilet needs repair. The flapper had to be refitted after EVERY flush to stop the water running. Poor maintenance! Don't get me started on the cheap toilet paper. Like wrapping tissue it was! We actually drove up from the keys and stayed 2 nights in Davie. Nice and close to the airport and not too far from the beach; our house located on canal which was peaceful with ducks on it ( not noisy amazingly).
