I didn't like the fact that Housekeeping was knocking on the door at 9:00 to clean the room check out is at 11:00 she woke us up and I had to answer the door to tell her we would be leaving around 10:30-10:45 then she proceeded to have a conversation outside our door with another Housekeeper so we were not able to go back to sleep. I was not happy about this part of my stay. The beach is beautiful with full public access. The Broadwalk that runs along the beach has many restaurants with live music, good drinks, plenty of people watching and friendly staff. Family friendly and great for adult only trips as well, rent bikes, tandem bikes or walk. Traffic is busy in all of Hollywood so allow for extra time. Aventura Mall about a 20min drive away is amazingly large and high end with many unique dining options. The maid did a poor job cleansing the rooms were never swept. Had to pick up a third towel everyday although I reminded them that it was three adults i the room. Not the best experience. No wake up call and I had to catch a plane. No computer to print boarding passes. It cost me $50.00 at the airport to get them. If I knew that the hotel couldn't print them, I would have stayed at a different place. Defective faucets in kitchen and bath. Defective electrical outlet in bathroom. Unsafe shower (No hand rails. The one they had was falling off). Room was clean and good bed. Sparse breakfast, broken waffle maker. The house is spacious and clean, with enough bedrooms and other amenities that make it perfect. Plenty of plates, cookware, and utensils. The host even left us some welcome beverages in the fridge. The patio was amazing with enough seating for loads of people. My grandkids especially loved the saltwater pool. I would highly recommend a stay at this house with these amazing hosts. I stayed in the Heron complex of Vacation Villages. Registration is in an entirely different part of Weston; then inadequate directions are given to drive to the room. I had to return to the registration office three times (at night) for clarity. Staff seemed indifferent. They didn't even mention my room was on a different street! Other guests commented they also had trouble finding their room. Heron I is more like an old run-down hotel suite, rather than an apartment. The stone flooring was quite damaged. There was no stove, oven or dishwasher, not even a dishpan to wash dishes in. There was a bad sugar-ant infestation. Ants got in my electronics! At least 12 ants crawled into a glass of tea left overnight on the counter. The bathtub is a SAFETY HAZARD no grips anywhere. You've been warned, Vacation Villages. The toilet needs repair. The flapper had to be refitted after EVERY flush to stop the water running. Poor maintenance! Don't get me started on the cheap toilet paper. Like wrapping tissue it was! We actually drove up from the keys and stayed 2 nights in Davie. Nice and close to the airport and not too far from the beach; our house located on canal which was peaceful with ducks on it ( not noisy amazingly).
