The Cox's Restaurant and Molly's were both great places to enjoy meals. Were not too expensive and had very good wait staff and food did not disappoint. Molly's not only allowed dining on the water front pier but also free access to walk out and watch the fishermen on the pier. The beach area was not overly crowded this time of year which was great. The weather was great while we were visiting. The area was only a short distance from other beaches and great shopping places as well.Guest review byCarolUnited States - 8.0

We ate at four corners diner which was affordable with good food and locals. We had Romo's pizza which was kind of pricey and not as good as I would like. Walking the beach with our dog chasing the seagulls was a hoot and I was able to get my nails done close to the hotel and they did an amazing job.Guest review bypamUnited States - 10.0

Beach is narrow but plenty wide for use. you have trees everywhere not just open blowing sand, plenty of houses with yards so it feels like a neighborhood. NO BAD FOOD anywhere, ALL restaurants are great, BUT new and NOT visible on GOOGLE. Just outside is Morehead city US center of all fishing saltwater but on Emerald Isle the Reel Outdoors is hands-down the best fishing equipment and supply shop in the southeast. it is BIG. Note you are 20 minutes to 4 small towns so you can find and do anything you wish.Guest review bybenUnited States - 8.0

Well maintained older motel, clean and comfortable.
Well maintained older motel, clean and comfortable. Short walk to a wonderful beach and close to many attractions. Would highly recommend if you’re not looking for anything fancy, just down to earth with very friendly staff.Guest review byRobertUnited States - 10.0

The room and bed were comfy, with a balcony to relax on watching the sound and animals outside. Pat makes exceptional breakfast with fancy bread and fresh fruit daily! It's only 30min to fort Macon beach, and 10 from ferry for Harkers Island and Shackleford Banks where you can see wild horses! The home is away from town and very quiet, don't come if you hate driving 20-30min for supper.Guest review byJones - 10.0
If you want to unplug & unwind then Harker's Island is it!
If you want to unplug & unwind then Harker's Island is it! This place is remote and quiet... however can get to necessities. Not much on Harker's Island itself for food except couple places & they are decent. The Dollar General is best value for supplies. Small beach access just as you cross bridge to Island. Otherwise you have to go to surrounding towns that take about 30 min for food, shopping & beaches...Guest review byTina BentleyUnited States - 10.0

AB is nice, it's not a very long walk from parking to water which comes in handy when you're hauling chairs and coolers! Certain sections have a few restaurants/ bars but for the most part the stretch if beach is just beach house (no boardwalk or shops). One thing I did find odd about the beach is there's never any shells. It's just pulverized shells and rocks so if you make it into the water bring water shoes or your feet will hurt! As for food.... the bite at the box is THE BEST! My kids beg to go there; affordable prices and large servings. Great sweet tea too! Friendly staff and the bar is nice too! If you have a free afternoon check out the aquarium. It was very nice, a few interactive areas and nice displays. Helpful staff and the outdoor trail is very peaceful! Free parking. We went though the whole building and outside (including watching a diving show and watching the otters) in about 90 min. It's not very large but it is very nice! Worth checking out for sure! Also worth mentioning fort Macon. Nice park and beach access. NOT for swimming at all -esp at the tip. The museum is very ....interesting... its a bit dated and kind of hoaky but it's something to do and free. There's a tours with a guide or you can freely roam. You can walk through the fort in certain sections as well at the top portion. The steps are tall and VERY very steep. There are NO guard rails on the top so it's not a place for small kids - especially if you have a runner! It's a historical site and well preserved, a few areas to look at inside the building as well as a theater. Nice clean bathrooms as well!Guest review byLauraUnited States - 10.0

I liked that the Hotel was easy to get to, and that they were close to everything. Social Q has the best brisket. Bojangles was good, and fast service. I would not avoid anything, it was a great location.Guest review byAnonymous
