- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 617 reviewsI first stayed at Middle Beach Lodge 20+ years ago and not much has changed but this isn’t a negative in fact it’s a positive. It remains the consistent in Tofino. The drive to the property is beautiful, the check in is seamless and staff on the desk are friendly and the rooms kept basic but lovely. Everywhere you walk around the property you can tell a lot of love and care has been put into keeping it looking beautiful. Middle Beach Lodge oozes West Coast Vancouver Island vibes. You simply can’t beat at the end of a busy day exploring heading down to the lounge, having a hot chocolate & a cookie and watching the sunset across Tofino. All the staff make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The included continental breakfast is basic but just enough to get you set up for the day especially the delish cinnamon buns. Rain or shine this is just a beautiful relaxing place to stay and being honest I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when returning to Tofino.Guest review byAdrianUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 368 reviewsIt is absolutely 10 for us. The unit was big enough and clean, it also contained all needed staff for cooking. Hotel has a great feature if you don’t want daily cleaning, you can just request things which you need (for example, additional coffee or tea). On the hotel territory you can find 2 cafes, where we took delicious fish&chips. Location is perfect, we took advantage of meeting sunset near to ocean. Territory is pretty big and even has small trail, which lead to a great view spot. We definitely want to return.Guest review byМarharytaUkraine
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,379 reviewsFrom arrival to departure everything was fantastic. Could not find any fault at all. The reception staff were so welcoming and helpful. We arrived a little early and our room was ready. Everything in the room was spotless. Bed was so comfy, we haven't slept so well in a long time. We were able to have the sliding door on to the balcony open and just close the screen so the sound of the sea was beautiful.Guest review byNoreenIreland
- From US$142.79 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 5.8Passable - What previous guests thought, 609 reviewsIt’s hard to pinpoint the precise reason for being fond of a particular hotel. Call it atmosphere, or character perhaps. For me, this hotel is a sweet reminder of the way things were long ago, when it was common for hotels to provide temporary homes for ordinary people, as well as providing for travelers. How nice to find a comfy place that has an old familiar feel.Guest review byLilyUnited States

So much to see and do.
So much to see and do. Victoria offers a plethora of options and a beautiful backdrop for all. As a group of women we spent time rummaging through an antique and thrift store, visited a trendy market and experienced a “Scottish high tea”. Something for everyone! Always the downside to any large city is the traffic but with some patience and a good navigator traversing the city is very doable…and there are many tour buses that offer the best option.Guest review byMaxineCanada - 10.0

This wasn't our first trip to Nanaimo so we did know our way around most of the city and beyond, but it is always a great place to be. We love the well planned Harbour walkways, many events in the parks, the beach trails. Our favourite beach walks are Piper's Lagoon and Neck Point. There are many good music venues, restaurants, scenic drives and walks. We easily found side roads that were basically parallel to the highway to get to and from downtown. Nanaimo has has a LOT to offer any visitor of any age! Can't wait to return!Guest review byTerry & PatCanada - 6.0

We were just passing by to head to the Hoh rain forest from Seattle and did not explore the city at all. So, do not want to comment. Heard some nice things about the place, but had no time at all to dig into it.Guest review byBalakrishnaUnited States - 6.0

Have been to Tofino 3 times now and as a senior I find it to be overpriced and overhyped. If you are young and into the surf scene then Tofino is a must go. Otherwise most of the activities found there (except any unique scenery of course) can be found in less expensive places.Guest review bygarthdarandbuddyCanada - 10.0

It was close to the airport which works for me and the Korean church was also four minutes away which I attended every morning and I went to La Fitness almost everyday which was also not far from the property and Korean markets like H mart was close and the Korean restaurants were close I went to Mt Rainier on Saturday and the drive was not bad however the line was over a mile and a half long which was not goodGuest review bySue - 8.0

The town is quaint and a bit sleepy at this time of year (after Labour Day) but the natural surroundings are stunning and exceed expectations. The beaches we saw and the trails we hiked were magnificent. A few restaurants were not open for dinner at this time of year so a bit challenging to eat at times but there’s a co-op in town (grocery store) and a pizza place which was excellent. Easy to navigate in the town; driving distance to Tofino also.Guest review byMaryCanada - 10.0

I love ocean shores. good restaurants (where I stayed the restaurant was closed) very walkable area to the shops further down. I enjoyed the thrift shop close by, of course shopping for my taffy & great grandkids t-shirts at Sharky's.Guest review byMaryUnited States - 6.0

The grizzly bear tour to Butte Inlet with Homalco Tours was absolutely amazing! The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and we saw many grizzly bears including mum's with their cubs and a huge male feeding on salmon. I can't recommend this tour company enough. Thank you for making our trip so amazing!Guest review bycarolineCanada - 10.0

I have always enjoyed Sequim. There's so much to do and see. Hurricane Ridge is a must to go see. The wild flowers are in mass during July. The Wildlife Refuge is another must see part of Sequim and of course in July the Lavender Festival is awesome.Guest review byConnieUnited States - 10.0
Parksville is a pretty area to visit.
Parksville is a pretty area to visit. If you like smaller places to stay, I'd recommend coming here. There's lots to see and do. Had breakfast at the Brazen Poppy Cafe. Great food and coffee. Would have gone twice, but was closed one of the days we were in the area. Parksville is close to Coombs to see the goats on the roof and take a wander through the Market and all the stores in the area. Also a fairly short drive to Cathedral Grove which is a great place to walk around in all the large trees. There is a Butterfly World close by that was fascinating to go through. On our next trip to Vancouver Island, this would be on our list of places to come back to.Guest review byHildaCanada
