The rooms were cosy and there is a very nice garden where you can sit and enjoy a drink in the evening. Mancos is also a very interesting town with lots of art. We were only in Cortez overnight after travelling all day and visiting Four Corners. Had a really great meal at El Campestre Mexican Restaurant. If you want some good Mexican food, you won't go wrong choosing this place! In my never to be humble opinion!!Guest review byMargaretUnited States - 10.0

Tours of Balcony House and Long House were really interesting and fun. Being able to get "into" the sites and hear about the history and culture of those who lived there was fascinating. The condition of these places is really amazing given their age (800 - 900 years old).Guest review byJimUnited States - 10.0
We came to Mancos to visit Mesa Verde National Park.
We came to Mancos to visit Mesa Verde National Park. We had an afternoon for sight-seeing and one morning to take 2 tours of the cliff dwellings. We got in one 2-hour hike and visited the museum and watched the informational movie. I would recommend spending more time in the area to take in more of the hiking trails available. Would also have liked time to stay late and view the stars in the dark conditions of the National Park with no light pollution. I would highly recommend a long stay at Mesa Verde National Park and the surrounding area.Guest review bySandy - 2.0
We only passed through Cortez for 1 night.
We only passed through Cortez for 1 night. Ate supper at a Mexican restaurant that had bugs flying around, however the food was good. Vacated our reservation at the Cortez Econo Lodge because it was dirty, the room door had a 1" gap at the bottom and many people hanging around, appearing to be long term stays that liked to party. Advertised a pool but that was filled in with dirt. Ended up at staying at Baymont which was excellent.Guest review byRhondaUnited States - 10.0
The ranger tour of Cliff Palace was excellent.
The ranger tour of Cliff Palace was excellent. Our ranger Adam was very passionate and knowledgable about the park and really helped us to understand what life was like for the people who had occupied these dwellings. Overall these cliff dwellings are fascinating and it was very exciting to be able to see some of them up close and personal. Driving around the park was very easy and well signposted.Guest review byNarisaCarlaAustralia - 10.0

A lovely little town - not yet spoiled by tourism like so many beautiful small towns. Very relaxing and laid back. Several art galleries, coffee shops and restaurants, and a nice bar with outside seating. I especially enjoyed the Maancos Gallery, with art by locals. Fahrenheit Coffee shop very good - excellent baked goods and coffee. The Mancos Inn exceeded our expectations!Guest review byLucilleUnited States - 8.0

In a strip town with chain hotel choices, The Retro Inn offered an alternative. After hiking all day, we found two pleasant restaurants along the Cortez highway: The Farmhouse Bistro and La Casita de Cortea.Guest review byGraceUnited States - 10.0

The park was great a lot of trails to see the history but, if you want to a do a cliff palace or balcony tour the tickets are sold out within 1 minute of them going on sale and when we got to the park we realized why they went so fast is because they have several bus tours all day long.Guest review byDeborahUnited States
