I have been going to Panama city beach for 10 straight years. It has everything you need to have fun. I find it amazing that people from all over the United States and other countries come for the beautiful white clean sand. The sunsets are amazing!! It is such a great place for young families. This was our first trip to Destin.
This was our first trip to Destin. The beaches are beautiful and not over crowded. There were many great places to eat, we enjoyed Parlor Donuts, Beignet and Brews, Lulus, and the Backporch. Also great shopping. We did a lot school clothes shopping while we were there. Both Destin Commons and Destin Outlets had great stores. We also went to the Gulfarium and our girls did the Penguin Encounter which was a lot of fun for them. We went July 1st-July 3rd.
We went July 1st-July 3rd. In spite of the that, some days there was almost no one on the beach, though the pier was packed with people fishing. We ate at Winderbreakers on the Pier. Its okay but pricey, the food was actually better at the local Slim Chickens. We did the jet skis at the Navarre Family Water Sports. The people there were very nice and helpful. Traffic was normal for the beach. Florida people can't drive and generally don't pay any attention to other drivers. I also recommend going to the Air Force Armament Museum that is only 45 min drive from Navarre. It's a free museum that older kids/ teens might enjoy.Guest review byBrettUnited States - 10.0

We only stayed 2-1/2 days but could have stayed longer to be able to visit all of the state parks. The goal was to go on the cave tour and it was stunning! Highly recommend! The trails were really cool too. Next time we will hit Three Rivers Park and Jackson Blue Spring. The towns people of Marianna are very friendly and we had a wonderful meal at a downtown local place called Bistro Palms. Would definitely dine there again and try to dine at The Salt Block next time. If you are driving in from the East, I recommend getting off I-10 and taking Hwy 90 into Marianna. You'll get an awesome view of the Jim Woodruff Dam and can pull off a short distance after to get an overlook of Lake Seminole and the other side of the dam. The hotel is situated a bit away of the main Street. On the main street are all the shopping and food areas you could think of. A hospital is close by the hotel. It seems it's an up and coming area, lots of building is going on. If you are looking for the ocean it's about an hour drive.
