Visited Punta del Diablo at the beginning of December, still not high season, not warm enough, and quite empty. One night and one day were enough to visit the village and walk around the beaches! Beware of having cash with you, many lodgings and commerces don't accept credit cards as a payment method. The beaches and landscapes are beautiful, the people are super nice and the village has its own rustic charm.Guest review byLaura GuerreiroSwitzerland - 10
The weather was 80 degrees every day.
The weather was 80 degrees every day. The beaches had very few people. Since it was shoulder season, a lot of restaurants were closed, so there were not a lot of choices for eating out. So we cooked in quite often. With a car, it was easy to access other close by, quiet beaches. If you like quiet, uncrowded beaches, this is for you. If you like lots of restaurant, vibrant night life, renting water craft, scuba diving, etc., this is not for you.Guest review byDaleUnited States - 10

Stargazing was unbelievable, never seen that many stars in the sky anywhere else before, The sea Lion colony is awesome, the view from the top of the lighthouse is a must, try the sea algae fritters, fried fish bites(dogfish), the beach on the south (playa sur) is where most people go to, got to see the famous Darwin's toad which only inhabits this region in the world.Guest review byMarceloUnited States - 10

Picturesque resort with natural beauty as well as the services it offers for a pleasant stay. A somewhat rustic and bohemian style (and another bit traditional) and the friendliness of its inhabitants, ideal for a quiet vacation with family or friends.Guest review byEfrain RattnerUruguay - 8.0

There is a pool and hot tub. The beach is accessible by car. Facility is old but has all the amenities. Water in sink was cold. Shower fine. We ate at Tano which was very good. Take time to meander the beach and the town-- good photo ops.Guest review bysherryCanada - 6.0
The location was great and was as advertised.
The location was great and was as advertised. However I felt the photos online were deceiving - on arrival the hotel looked tired and the rooms and spaces only confirmed that first impression. There was a nice view from my room however the windows were dirty which was a shame. The staff were friendly and helpful however which was nice.Guest review byJohnAustralia - 10
Cabo Polonio is a bit of a magical place.
Cabo Polonio is a bit of a magical place. The beach is endless and the sky is amazing at night because of the lack of light pollution. There are some good places to eat or drink but I recommend withdrawing a lot of cash before going there, as some places don’t accept cards.Guest review byLauraUnited Kingdom - 10
Have loved LP, since my first visit, in 2007.
Have loved LP, since my first visit, in 2007. I even started looking to buy a summer home there, to get out of Buenos Aires but then, the banking crisis of 2008 happened and losing 50% of my value, overnight nixed that idea. Sadly, for ten yrs. since 2013, I wasn't able to return, because of various problems but now, that Uruguay is open and my challenges are done, I'll be back twice a yr. for sure. Love the beach bum life. In a tiny, charming town. With plenty of interesting things to do, eat and see, even in off season.Guest review byDierdreArgentina - 6.0
The scenery and the beaches are unique.
The scenery and the beaches are unique. Cabo Polonio is a beautiful National Park. The sunsets are amazing. But you have to like the very particular vibe of this place, such as lacking basic infrastructure. It is extremely basic while quite expensive. It´s some kind of rich hippies place. Book in advance or you´ll end up in the same hotel we went, which was really bad (Puertas del Cabo). There are better options but be prepared to spend your dollars if you want something decent. We had dinner at Perla del Cabo which was very good, especially the ceviche.Guest review byErnestoUruguay
