We loved staying at Sapa Relax hotel. It is very well located, in the center with a great view on the rice fields. Having a drink on the rooftop was indeed enjoyable. The staff was extremely helpful with our visits of the villages around and they kept our luggage while we went touring for a few days by motorbike.

There was a sumptuous breakfast with a very caring staff. The staff were friendly providing suggestions on activities to engage in and useful tips. The ambiance of the hotel was amazing and rooms were really spacious and impeccably maintained. The care exhibited by staff in the maintenance of the property was very evident. Julie was absolutely wonderful. She helped us with everything from booking tours, ensuring our transfer picked us up from the right location and really making sure our trip was the best it could be. We stayed at the bamboo sa pa hotel as part of our honeymoon trip across Thailand and vietnam and this has been our favourite stay so far! The hotel is beautiful and the service was absolutely wonderful.

    We stayed here for 2 nights. Enjoyable experience. Nice room with a good view balcony. The balcony door is soundproof so no problem with noise. The staffs are so kind, friendly and helpful. Easy to walk around the hotel area since its the heart of Sapa. We both women walk at night safely. Will come back here if we go to SaPa again.

    We allowed 4 days to explore Sapa, but sadly arrived at the...

    We allowed 4 days to explore Sapa, but sadly arrived at the start of a typhoon. Flooding rain and heavy cloud persisted during our stay and we didn’t get to explore the area at all. The weather began to clear as we were leaving and we got glimpses of the stunning region. We have learnt that the weather is very ‘hit or miss’ in Sapa, despite recommendations that Autumn as a good time to visit. If possible, it might be better to hover in Hanoi and visit Sapa when the forecast is promising as it’s a long way to travel to not experience all it has to offer. While flexible travel plans are a luxury, it seems the way to go in Sapa. The same goes for visiting Mt Fansipan on the gondola. Many prepaid, online tickets lock you in to the date you choose in advance. There truly in no way of telling what visibility will be like until the actual day. We are grateful that we hadn’t pre-booked tickets to this attraction as the weather conditions were atrocious during our stay in Sapa. We will definitely return to Sapa one day as it is worth the journey there.

    Lao Cai is a frontier town and as such, has a quite quirky feel to it. There is not a whole lot to do per se, apart from visiting a couple of pagodas. I do like the vibe there and there is some really good Vietnamese food available.

    Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel owners refuse to provide information and collaborate only with specific companies. English guides limited but a guide named Thao made our stay a nightmare. She was trying to push lunch and other side services, once she realized we didn’t want that, she stopped any guiding and intentionally destroyed half of one day and the whole second day by acting simply as a side person on the trip, not providing absolutely anything. Totally unprofessional and even verbally rude and sarcastic. Avoid at all costs!

    We were truly impressed by the breakfast at the hotel every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Enjoying a delicious meal while watching the majestic Fansipan mountain range and clouds drifting gently over the valley was an unforgettable experience. The hotel can get quite busy in the morning, so it’s best to arrive a bit early to get one of the best seats where you can sip your coffee and soak in the breathtaking mountain view. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always greeting us with warm smiles and genuine care. A perfect way to start a new day in Sapa Hoteldesapa

    Mountainous area famous for plum.

    Mountainous area famous for plum. It's called the white valley because during the spring the whole area is covered by plum flowers. So it's best to visit in early January. Otherwise, summer is a good time for plum picking. I had an enjoyable experience picking plum myself and brought lots of them home. I was lucky to visit during the weekends when they had annual horse racing competition. Really memorable. They also have weekly Hmong flea market on Sunday, you can eat local food and see ethnic people trading. Riding motorbike and looking at the mountain was fairly enough for me. You definitely should eat at Sa Mu restaurant. The food was so good that we went there twice.

    Getting around sapa is easy with grab. There are a lot of must try eats in sapa like black chicken, sturgeon and salmon. There are also fun attractions like alpine coaster, moana sapa and glass bottom bridge.

    I only stayed Saturday night for the Sunday market but wish I’d stayed Friday night too to see the buffalo market on Saturday morning. Get up early (~6am) and go to the market while it’s bustling with locals rather than waiting until the tourist buses arrive (from ~9am). Quan Binh Phuong does good chicken pho for 30,000 VND
