The hosts Simonette and Christine and the cleaning staff were wonderful. Simonette and Christine were very helpful and addressed all our needs. The property was central, safe, beautiful and private. It was a short walk to a restaurant, short drive to many others and a 10 min drive to Somerset Mall. The beds were great, bathrooms very clean, facilities (eg coffee machine and kettle)fabulous and rooms spacious. The breakfasts were wonderful. I was really impressed and would definitely stay again.

We stayed in a lovely room up in the trees, clean comfortable and peaceful. Had everything you could need, nespresso machine, fresh milk and an honesty bar stocked with lovely wine and other things. The bed, pillows and sheets were luxurious. Lythia and Phil went out of their way to assist and make us feel at home. We will be back.

The property is stunning. Beautifully surrounded by nature and with some very cute farm animals. The place has a special air to it, really making you feel home and at peace.     Such an incredible property! So much attention to detail, including all the amazing amenities. Delicious breakfast, gym, sauna, pool, spectacular views, comfy bed. Love the good smells everywhere! Property is grown over with jasmine so the smells permeate your room if you leave the window open. No detail is spared. Very thoughtful design and incredibly friendly staff. Very small and intimate property. Felt like I had the whole place to myself. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

    Warm and efficient welcome! From arrival until check out, this establishment exceeded our expectations. You will not find better value for money in this price range. The roads are really quiet in the evenings to ensure sound sleep. The pool is in immaculate condition, but sadly, we didn't try the putting course. Lola was really friendly and deserves a treat! We will definitely stay here during our next trip to CPT! Lots of love, JP & Miralde

    Very cute, has some nice shopping centres, nicely located...

    Very cute, has some nice shopping centres, nicely located between Cape Town and Stellenbosch, nothing is a far drive. There can be some traffic on week days though, but if you leave earlier in the morning it's fine. Quiet place, easy to drive around or get an uber. Lots of wine farms near by and some great restaurants (trip advisor and google both have good lists for these). Some great hikes that are nearby as well.

    Friendly people. Amazing sites to see. Shopping malls & restaurants in all directions. Spur is located by the beach which makes it even more beautiful to look out at the beach. There's a wine farm situated not far from the location. Perfect location for a break away from your busy life.

    We have stayed for a long weekend in Melkbosstrand and for the past 5 years each January in Strand. The area around Strand and the beach is nice, even though it can get very busy - it is a nice place to stay and lots of things to do.

    This accommodation has a verry bad neighbourhood! You have to drive to a really unpleasant area to get to the small holdings which are then fenced and secured. But huge warning since at the gate shows how safe the area is😉

    The city is well laid out and it's easy to find your way.

    The city is well laid out and it's easy to find your way. There are some hidden gems which could be better popularised. All the amenities one would need are to be found in Somerset West and it is within easy reach of Cape Town. There are some excellent restaurants and vineyards within easy reach.

    Gordons Bay is tucked into the curve of the bay.

    Gordons Bay is tucked into the curve of the bay. It is a quaint fishing town but offers so much. The beaches and the Harbour, where there is always something happening. Cycling from Gordons bay to Betty's Bay is a must. Beautiful coast line to walk around. Wonderful restaurants where you will always find the local people enjoying themselves and want to include the visitors. Many wine farms only a stones throw away. All in all Gordons Bay offered us as a family a wonderful couple of day to exercise, braai, walk and have memorable time together. Excellent destination for just getting away.

    The beach was very pleasant and nice for my grandchidren who enjoyed the beach They also enjoyed the waterworld on the beach, There are great shopping malls in Strand and many convenient stores for the odd things you may require. The people in Strand are mostly very friendly and it was a pleasure going around checking out different places

    I enjoyed getting to know Gordon’s Bay and the second hand book shop, which understandably draws visitors from miles around. The mountain, where Manor House is located in Sir Lowry’s Pass, shared many different delights every day including beautiful horses, an Italian vineyard (ahem winery), a steam train complete with cheerful “toot!” The mountains themselves give the scene an Alpine feel; the urge to sing may be unavoidable.

    Loved the area, close to Strand Beach, but couldn't find local restaurants only the Somerset Mall. Maybe more info should be provided about where the local facilities are so one doesn't spend unnecessary time driving up and down hoping to find the local stores.

    The view from the apartment balcony is stunning—perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even sundowners and mimosas. It's also a great spot for board games, though keep in mind there's a restaurant below. The area is close to everything, with convenient stores and a welcoming, friendly town atmosphere.
