Breakfast and Dinner were excellent. The hosts were perfect and after a very long drive they did everything to make us comfortable. The walk up the Koppie was unexpected and a real treat. If you want noise and nightlife do not go but if you want tranquility under the stars it is just the perfect place.

The communal braai facilities is something different and we have really enjoyed the company of the various groups that visited in Namaqua National Park. The hosts were absolutely excellent. The kitchen is fully equipped with more than you ever need. Remember that this is outback facility for campers and flower lovers. If you are not an outdoor person do not badmouth this gem in the Namaqua area.

Kallabaskop offers a wonderful relaxing stay out in the heart of Namaqualand. The rooms and facilities are what you'd expect from a minimalist eco-lodge, but perfectly sufficient to have a wonderful stay. What made the trip especially awesome are the lodge's owners, Cornelia and Andre, who are incredibly helpful and kind!

Soebatsfontein is small with not much in the way of shops.

Soebatsfontein is small with not much in the way of shops. Take what you need unless your accommodation can provide meals. I am not sure there is a garage for petrol/diesel. It is a great remote spot to do day trips to see flowers in flower season. Expect only gravel roads and watch the routes Google maps may send you on. If they take a long time they may be 4x4 routes. The local town hall is opened with interesting crafts during the flower season.

Hondeklipbaai is quite a depressing, run down village, with limited lighting at night so we were advised not to walk to the local restaurant. If you are keen to get away from it all, it may appeal to you - but for a family with teenagers, not an ideal destination. We were only there for a night; so did not get to the reserve; which I believe is spectacular in Spring.

Hondeklipbaai has not much to offer ito entertainment, a small, ex-fishing village which is rather run down - although the accommodation offered is totally acceptable. The prices on the menu of the harbour restuarant is, for locals travellers, somewhat pricey. Really enjoyed our trip along the rugged coastline to the shipwreck. Even though we were approached, on two occassions, for money and liquor, overall, the local folk are very friendly.
