The vibe is a bit retro but if you like that sort of thing it's an unexpectedly beautiful hotel. I loved the art pieces around the hotel. Extra spacious rooms, I appreciated the humidifier. They have a coin laundry with clear instructions in english as well. The service is fantastic and so is the breakfast (there's both western and japanese options). Location-wise, it's conveniently close to both the station (if you're planning to see Naoshima for example) and the main local attraction, plus it's a minute away from the canal which is so pretty and makes for a lovely walk!

Directly connected to JR Okayama Station, Granvia Okayama is a 15-minute train ride from Kurashiki.

Very cute guesthouse in a traditional Japanese house with a big garden and friendly staff. Very short walk to the train station which takes you to Okayama and Naoshima.

Nice with parking right opposite hotel. The hotel hotel itself and the whole bikan historical area is my focus this time. Everything within walking distance. Best under cooler weather. We could go back to the hotel easily to have a short break from the heat then get out again.

Dormy Inn Kurashiki is a 6-minute walk from Kurashiki Train Station and a 40-minute drive from Okayama Airport.

Very nice hotel with nice equipment in the room. The receptionist Morimoto anticipated my needs with remarkable efficiency and courtesy. As a hotel manager, I am convinced that her admirable sense of service is a valuable asset to this establishment. FYI : it's not a European spa but a Japanese bath.

Set in Naoshima, near Naoshima Pavillion, Naoshima Christ Church and Gokaisho Art House Project, Hoshikuzu has a shared lounge.

The home was very spacious, nicely decorated, and we felt so welcomed with the personalized note and snacks that were provided. The location was also great. It made our visit to Naoshima that much more delightful and special!

Staying in a beautiful piece of Japanese modernism was a delight, especially one that's been lovingly cared for. Breakfast was good, and I especially liked I could open our bedroom window. It's also very handy for Bikan neighbourhood.
