As a European, I love it. I was worried it might be tacky, cheap, kitsch and so on, but it's just a really lovely and stylish slice of Mediterranean. Grounds and facilities were impeccable thanks to recent renovations. Great food, great public bath, great staff. The breakfast was a delight. It's just about within walking distance of the Yokoyama trail area if you're up for a bit of hiking.

Miyako Resort Okushima Aqua Forest features a natural hot spring, indoor and outdoor pools. Free WiFi, parking and return shuttle bus services to Kashikojima Subway Station are available.

The view is breathtaking, the big windows in the room were perfect for the view, the room itself was very spacious for a Japanese hotel, we had a lot of space for our luggage. The breakfast was great with variety and the evening buffet was so good that we booked it each day although we wanted to try local restaurants. The staff was also very friendly, I could even have some light chat (in Japanese) and get some recommendations on activities to do.

Easy to get to the hotel using their shuttle bus from Toba station. A beautiful sea view from the room. Pearl bath was lovely. High quality service.
