We stayed 2 nights in a beautiful room with sea view. All the facilities are modern and clean. Very spacious building. Infinity pool. You book a slot for private Onsen looking over the sea. Absolutely beautiful. We rent an E-bikes ¥1000 per day to get around the beautiful town. Staffs were so helpful, they couldn’t do enough for us. We wish we stayed longer!

Reopened in April 2017, Shimoda Tokyu Hotel features hot-spring baths, a Japanese and Western fusion-style restaurant and an outdoor pool.

The staff were so nice and really accommodating. The facilities are really nice with everything you need. The free shuttle bus to the local Shimoda train station was great and you can catch an express train back to Tokyo if needed. The location is unreal. One of the best hotels I stayed in Japan.

Stunning ocean views from every room. Some good surf right out front, really comfortable hotel. Great onsen with an ocean view. Really good value. Highly reccomend.

This was a wonderful hotel and I would go back in a flash. It is right on the beach. We were there in February so the pool was closed but the onsen was open. Went there in the morning and last thing in the evening. The rooms are nice and big. Try and get a seaside facing room to enjoy the beach and the rising sun. The staff were friendly. All in all a great experience. Also there is a free shuttle bus to Kawazu town but there is also a train station near the hotel.

The hotel is situated on the sea, with an uninterrupted view, a great experience.From check-in, to the onsen, and Japanese breakfast and dinner, plus afternoon tea, we truly experienced traditional Japanese service and enjoyed it very much. From the pick up at the train station to the final drop off at the train station, the two nights and three days were the highlight of our two week trip to Japan. In particular, the lady who brought the food and beverage service to the room was very touching in her seriousness and professionalism.The receptionist is also warm and friendly, very patient and explain one by one.
