This has been our best stay in Sri Lanka without doubt. Renu is an incredibly inspiring woman, mother and co-owner who will do everything in her power to make your stay intimate, comfortable and convenient. She puts an umbrella in front of your door when it rains; she looks out the window to see how far you are to prepare breakfast; she brings everything to your table and removes it quietly. Not to mention the room, with its high double roofed ceiling that makes you feel like you’re in a nest on a treetop. It’s spacious, spotless clean (no sign of dump despite daily rain in Ella) and everything works perfectly, even though it’s literally a hanging cottage. The view from the bed/balcony is breathtaking and different every day, and you even see the famous train passing at your feet. DIGITAL NOMADS: we had quite good wifi, enough for videocalls most times of the day, but bring a sim card with data just in case.

The room was well designed, new and clean with a great view and comfortable beds. The hosts were very friendly and breakfast was delicious. The property is located at the start of the little adams peak walk and not far from the nine arch bridge trail. We accidentally left my daughters favourite blanket behind and the owner, Dom, arranged for it to be delivered to us at our next destination via a passing driver. A really relaxing and wonderful experience

It was spacious, well equipped, the beds were comfy & the views were spectacular. The hosts were kind, attentive and couldn’t do enough to help you. Breakfast was different every day and we enjoyed experiencing Sri Lankan cuisine. It is outside of the town which we enjoyed for the view, Tuk Tuk transport with the hosts made it easy to get in and out of Ella and to see sights we wanted to see. I will definitely return in the future and would highly recommend.

Janith, the host of the homestay was the loveliest person, very helpful with anything you need, you name it: an occasional eviction of a gecko from the room, the best restaurant recommendation in Ella (Cafe Samsara) or arranging a driver for us. In the morning we opted for the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and it was the best breakfast we had during our entire trip, for sure.

Everything was perfect : the location was a bit out of the center town, but not too far, which was great because it was calm with a beautiful 😍 The family was very welcoming, thoughtful and kind ! The room was very nice and very clean with a balcony with a view on the mountains and the waterfall. Very good breakfast directly brought to your balcony. We could rent the motorbike directly to the family which was very convenient and cheaper than in town. You can't go wrong by choosing this place !

In our opinion the sweetest place to stay in Ella! The family is simply lovely and showed us great Sri Lankan hospitality. When we arrived sick from Hatton the owner and his family took care of us, drove us to the doctor and bought fresh king coconuts from the market just for us! When we recovered the owner was very helpful giving us tips and advises on what to see and how to get there with lovely hand-drawn maps. The view from the room is breathtaking with one of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve ever seen in Sri Lanka. The accommodation was perfect, the location is great and the breakfast is amazing with fruits pancakes coconut rotti and fruit juices. You can also rent a scooter just downstairs from Paraiso Guest House. Of course we highly recommend this stay!!
