Great ocean front location, quiet and peaceful. very close to the boats to pigeon island. Staff were amazing and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to ensure we were confortable through out our stay. They even surprised us with dinner on the beach on our last night. The food was wonderful and make sure you try the crab curry!

absolutely wonderful place to stay! definitely this was the best place during all our trip in SL! spacious rooms, very clean, comfortable bed, pool for babies and adults. tasty food, helpful and friendly stuff, you can enjoy ocean view from your terrace or balcony!

Top hotel at a wonderful beach, very nice wooden cottages, friendly staff and reliable service e.g. the airport transfer. On the way from Colombo to Nilaveli and Trincomalee You are passing jungle and national parks, having wild elephants on the road, an exciting experience also, even though it is a car ride by around 5 hours. Warmly recommended!

This hotel is nestled on Nilavali Beach, a 10-minute boat ride from Pigeon Island. There is no available WiFi, a large outdoor pool and spacious rooms with views of the ocean.

This was such a wonderful place to end our trip. The staff put us so at ease and made our stay incredibly relaxing. We were in the smallest room available, that is described as having no window, however it's much nicer than it sounds! There are glass doors which bring in plenty of light and the tree in the bathroom is enjoyable. We had some great meals at the hotel and the beach is less than a minute away. The hotel has close connections with a tour operator (Boatman) who was great and offered trips all over the area. Would definitely stay here again.

Location was perfect (close to beach and amazing restaurants), staff were incredibly helpful, whole place was super clean and exceptional value for money. All quite basic, but it had everything we needed. The shared kitchen and fridge is also very useful… all in all a great place for a beach holiday!

The sweetest host, who cares deeply about the animals and the environment. With the money he gets he feeds more thank 20cats and 8 dogs he has at home and besides that more than 50 in the woods, that people throw there to die. He works and lives with sole purpuse he feeds and helps the animals. The most genuine, sweet and caring host we had. The location is also perfect, 5minute walk to the beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and although no breakfast is provided there is always an option to go to the next building to Mom’s kitchen, that is run by the hosts mother and they have excellent food (for breakfast, lunch or dinner).

During our Sri Lanka vacation, we stayed at the Amaranthe Bay Resort for the last two nights. The Junior Suite we booked was spacious and elegant, with the highlight being the Jacuzzi Bath – a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration. Adding to its charm, the balcony offered a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding nature, and we were fortunate to witness stunning sunsets over the nearby lake, creating unforgettable memories. Although the resort's large inviting pool was enjoyable, some sharp corners around the area caused minor inconveniences and led to an unfortunate toe injury. Nevertheless, our overall experience remained highly enjoyable. The hotel's convenient location allowed easy access to the ocean and beach, where we found several delightful restaurants for lunch or dinner. Inside the resort, we had the pleasure of dining at their lovely restaurant, offering reasonable prices and a varied, tasty breakfast. The staff was friendly and attentive, and while there was a minor disagreement about the exchange rate during payment, the managers handled the situation with professionalism, swiftly resolving any issues and leaving us with a positive impression of their commitment to guest satisfaction. Amaranthe Bay Resort's well-maintained and peaceful ambiance made our stay perfect. Location and the view of are breathtaking. Pool was large and clean. Tucked away close to the city amenities. Staff was very pleasant and cordial always ready to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. Food was excellent.
