So far the best stay in Sri Lanka. It is a basic accommodation in the middle of the nature. The host and her husband spent more than 1 our with us searching for sleeping birds. I got some great shots. They searched with us in a book for the names of all the birds. Sunrise is stunning to watch right out of the balcony. You can walk around the lake and see so many birds, crocodiles etc. Just the people on the street who wants to offer you a guided tour where a bit annoying, but this has nothing to do with the accommodation. The food was excellent and the prices reasonable.

I have had an amazing stay at V Cabanas! The room was very spacious, clean and a great shower with hot water:) Also the view from the terrace over the rice fields was so good! The food was excellent, both breakfast and curry were one of the best I had in Sri Lanka! Lastly, the host family was just amazing. They welcomed me with some tea and were very helpful and kind surfing my stay. They took me to see the Fruit bats view point, lent me a bike, and dropped me at the busstation when I left. One of my best stays so far, so highly recommend!

Spacious rooms, fantastic design, comfortable and cozy. Best safari experience ever. Many ddrivers will offer you a safari on the street but we definitely recommend going with the hotel company as we had a fantastic experience! They also gave us a cute takeaway box for our safari breakfast.

Lovely setting. Very large, spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast was plentiful and a good variety to suit tastes. Dinner was very good also. Staff were very attentive and polite. Pool and surrounding area was clean.

Wooow ! This place felt like home 😊 after two weeks of traveling Sri Lanka this is by far the best stay we had. The staff specially a guy called Amil were so welcoming and served us with the best smoothies we had. We hung out and had soo many lovely chats! They have a beautiful garden with a nice view of a river that is near by. Since this stay is near Yala national park they also organised a wonderful safari. Thank you guys for everything! This place is a magical place with a calm and quiet nature. Swimming in the early morning before breakfast is the best thing to do. If you love animals, there is a lovely dog and lots of peacocks flying around. Throughout our stay, Dinesh helped us make our stay wonderful. They even made us a special Sri Lankan breakfast during our stay. I'm definitely going to visit again. I even met a lovely family from Switzerland with two kids. This is definitely a wonderful place to spend your holiday. 🌿😍

I loved this place! I was treated like family, extended and stayed 5 nights! Wish I'd had longer! Dimo was fantastic in organizing tours to yala and took us on a lake tour! The food was some of the best I've had in Sri Lanka! I spent a lot of time watching wildlife by the river!! Saw heaps of amazing and rare birds!! I adored everything about this place!! My room was sensational! Great amenities and views of the river! Comfy bed and pillows! Really awesome varied accommodation for every budget! I can't thank these guys enough! I had a really comfortable, tasty and exciting experience here! And I can't wait to go back!!

Openess of the downstairs area where you could meet up. The pool was so refreshing after the safari. Personable approachable manager/receptionist. Great breakfast. All staff were enthusiastic to help out. All seem well trained. Staff organized safari truck and driver for onward travel.

The room had incredible views of the lake. Our room in the upper floor was very independent. It was big and very clean. I was afraid of mosquitoes but there were none inside of the room during our stay. The host (Shehan) was really nice person, and offers a lot of services: taxis, safari, dinner, etc. We booked with him the Yala safari with a nice guide (Chanaka) that did his most to find the leopard. Also we booked some taxis that he helped us to arrange to get to the hotel and get to our next destination with reasonable price. We had dinner there which was good and the breakfast was very very good and big.
