Great location if you are looking for quiet and nature Amazingly friendly and warm family who runs the place Comfortable bed and pillows Good food I booked this place very last minute on my way from Ella towards the beaches in the south. So far it has been my best stay in Sri Lanka. The hosts were very kind, I got to fish in the lake for a few hours and we ate some of the fish for dinner after. They helped arrange a Safari for me. I only wish I stayed longer but was running short on time to squeeze in a few more towns before I leave Sri Lanka. I forgot a shirt that was gifted to me in the room and the family is sending to me in the next town over, very kind of them as the item hold a lot of sentimental value. Anyone looking for a quiet nature area where you can observe many birds and aquatic wildlife will absolutely love this place!

Stay was perfect! Really clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows. The hotel has beautiful garden and fabulous rice fields bordering on hotel garden. Hostess was very helpful, polite and nice. Best recommendations!

My partner and I arrived at the hotel after a scenic journey from Ella town, just as the evening was settling in. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, setting a delightful tone for our stay. As we explored the grounds, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a charming orchard boasting a variety of fruit trees, including cinnamon, pomegranate, avocado, and soursop. One of the highlights of the property was undoubtedly the picturesque river flowing peacefully behind the hotel, providing a serene backdrop to our experience. Though we ultimately chose not to stay overnight, we left with a strong recommendation for this hotel, confident that others would find it equally enjoyable.

Riverside Cabana is a great choice for visiting Tissamaharama. You will not be at the center of all the hustle, but very close to the National park. We stayed the apartment with the open wall so you could hear the animals at night and it's an unique experience. The amenities were great, bed very good and overall our stay was very nice. The breakfast was good. The owner was great, and very helpful with all our needs.
