Kelly‘s Courtyard Hotel is a stylish courtyard hostel located in a traditional Hutong (alley) in the heart of Beijings Xidan District, a vibrant commercial area and the capitals financial district, nick named Chinese Wall Street. Kelly’s is in a hutong close to Xisi station, easy to find if you get a taxi ordered the first time and then pin the location. It feels like living amongst locals in the neighbourhood which is lovely - I was unlucky with Tiananmen and Forbidden City being blocked during my visit but the hotel is super closeby so in normal times it’s extremely convenient. The inside of the hotel itself is peaceful and idyllic, rooms have a very comfortable double bed. I had my own bathroom and toilet and enjoyed the courtyard view. Temperature control is great inside as you’d never know how hot it is outdoors. There is a nice terrace and common room upstairs to hang out in. All the staff are super kind and welcoming, it was a pleasure interacting with them. Biggest bonus points for Mark, who manages the hotel. I sincerely mean it that he is one of the kindest people I’ve met. He helped me plan some of my visits, gave restaurant recommendations and helped to order a Chinese dish I didn’t know how to find, and had interesting conversations about our respective countries. He even made sure I made it to the airport when big road closures made traffic unpredictable. Thank you to you and all your staff, I can’t find a fault with my stay 🙏🏻

Furnished in calming blue, white and dark brown, all rooms come with traditional lanterns and paintings. Certain rooms feature a private bathroom with a hot tub, while others have bathrobes and slippers alongside with a walk-in shower. Some rooms have a seating area to relax in after a busy day. We highly recommend this hotel. We have been here 2 nights out of 5 we have booked, and are very happy with the size and comfort of the room (king deluxe)& bed, the room layout and facilities, and cleanliness. Breakfast is great. The front desk staff, particularly Myrna & Johnny have been exceedingly helpful and patient with us, helping us book tickets to attractions etc.

Miyun
Situated in Miyun, just 50 metres away from the Great Wall, this friendly hostel features modern architecture, free Wi-Fi and free parking. Nestled in the laid-back Gubeikou Town, the single-storey house would be a warm base to explore the wild Beijing. If you are planning to hike the Jinshanling / Gubeikou portion of the Great Wall, this is a lovely lovely place to stay! The building itself is quite beautiful in an artsy traditional kind of way and the woman who runs it (I’m so sorry I didn’t get her name) is a wonderful person who exudes calm and tranquility - a vibe that runs throughout this hotel /hostel. It is a very clean, very comfortable hotel with a beautiful communal space for lounging and eating. We had the dinner that she cooked and it was the best meal I’ve had since arriving in China. The most amazing views of the Great Wall can be seen from the hotel and I would have loved to have stayed an extra few days. We hiked from Jinshanling to Gubeikou, but many people we met in the hostel were going the opposite way - either direction is fabulous, but for sure plan to stay here for at least one night!

Lovely courtyard for relaxing and socialising. Good reasonably priced food. Friendly helpful staff
I loved the fact that it was naturally cool and relaxing in our room and in the courtyard area despite the hot weather outside. It was the perfect place to relax after an active day or prepare before a busy day. The sound of the fish pond splashing was magical, the breakfast was lovely and generous and the service, especially Mark's helpful tips and suggestions about getting around Beijing, made our stay absolutely delightful.
Being a member of Hilton Honours, we received a free upgrade to an incredible suite and free breakfast. The staff were very attentive, friendly, and professional. We enjoyed the free airport shuttle bus service, which was very convenient, door to door service. The bathroom products were exceptional. We enjoyed having a lovely bath with a view after our long-haul flight from Australia. The food at breakfast was very delicious and super fresh! This was the perfect way to spend our layover.
Modern, clean, large rooms with very comfortable beds. Good gym facilities and swimming pool. Breakfast is very good with lots of Asian and western options. Location excellent as 10 minutes on foot or shuttle to the airport and subway to Beijing centre. My last stay was overbooked, so was upgraded, which was a wonderful, luxury experience.
Very close to airport. We were upgraded to a very big room free of charge. Personnel at reception very helpful in arranging free shuttle. Lovely place to stay. About 50 mins either express subway from the airport to the city.
Staff were lovely, the shuttle bus to and from the airport was really appreciated. I booked the hotel for a 10 hour layover for me and my daughter. We were picked up at the airport and given a free upgrade. The shuttle bus took us back to the airport at midnight. Excellent service
Brilliant newly renovated hotel with impeccable room design and setup, we had a lovely tea party on the terrace overlooking the hutongs which was really special. Staff very nice and helpful, this is truly a luxury hutong experience
Stunning building! Beautifully designed - worth a visit even if not staying! Short walk out of exit 13 from the airport. Gorgeous, Japanese-Industrial design, good sized, luxurious room with remote control blinds. Good breakfast options and lovely chef. Relaxing massage and facial in spa. Really enjoyable working space amongst the library and displayed products.
Very good facilities, impressive hotel. Great location close to shooping area and walkable distance to main touristic attractions (like Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven). The christmas tree and decorations were a great highlight. The swimmingpool and jacuzzis were also very relaxing and withing a great environment.
Lovely relaxing environment with nice breakfast and the nicest staff.
