Offering direct access to the beach, Lanna Ban Hotel is located in Puerto Viejo. The hotel features an exotic garden and contemporary Thai architecture. Free WiFi access is available. Beautiful property, great pool, beautiful room. Frog ponds were pretty neat and we saw a few red-eyed tree frogs on the night it rained. One of the most lovely hotels we booked in Costa Rica. Would recommend it to a friend.

Centrally located in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca town centre and just a 3-minute walk from Salsa Brava Beach, Hotel Indalo adults only features an extensive garden, sun terrace and free Wi-Fi. Really comfortable and private hotel for a great price in Puerto Viejo. We loved the size and layout of the room, the patio area and the pool was a nice bonus. It was close to everything but far enough that there was no traffic noise or music from the local clubs. Filtered water and coffee offered daily was great and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The whole village is beautifully designed with a clever inside/outside design to make you really aware you are staying in the heart of the jungle, side by side with nature. It’s fabulous and wildlife is everywhere! Lots of lovely artistic touches around the house make it feel very special and the house has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Masai was on hand at all times to help with any requests we had and the fact that laundry was thrown in free was a massive bonus. All in all we had a really special time at Congo Bongo which we will remember forever.

This is a lovely place with a private deck on the ocean. It is coral, so not a beach for swimming - but Playa Negra is a beautiful black sand beach a mere 10 minute walk away - excellent for swimming. We had the air conditioned rooms with floor to ceiling windows looking out at the jungle and ocean as well as a lovely swimming pool. The back courtyard not only a few steps from the ocean, but also full of hammocks and wildlife, daily visits from howler monkeys and tons of birds. A beautiful place to relax. The breakfast was delightful, the staff friendly and helpful. Very clean and very close to everything in town. Many delicious restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The national park, hiking and snorkeling all within a few minutes walk. We LOVED this place and can't wait to go back.

Offering a terrace and views of the garden, Relax Natural Village is located in the Cocles Region, 2 km from Puerto Viejo. Free private parking is available on site. Very nice, helpful and funny staff :) the room was amazing - clean, comfortable and you feel like you're in the middle of the rain forest - which you somehow are. If you lie in the hammock you can spot the "wildlife" in the garden: incredibly cute agutis, butterflys, lizards, frogs, birds and so on... the breakfast is awesome as well! Pura vida feeling as it should be!

Finca Chica offers accommodation in Puerto Viejo. Cahuita is 16 km from the property. Free WiFi is featured and free private parking is available on site. The owner and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. They provided a jungle tour pointing out sloths, snakes, spiders, etc…. Plus, provided information on where to eat, what to do, what to see, etc..

Located just 200 metres from Chiquita beach, La Kukula Lodge is located in Puerto Viejo. Free WiFi access and an outdoor swimming pool are available. The breakfast was very good, more than enough and different each day. The rooms are very comfortable and the location is right in the jungle which was amazing, we even were able to see a sloth from the hammock in front of our room.
