The location was amazing, the views over the lake quite beautiful. Rooms were light and spacious. Lastly the staff were lovely and even put out bowls and a bed for our dog.

Dating from 1737, this historic hotel in Aumühle is set near the pretty Mühlenteich lake and Sachsenwald forest, just a 20-minute city rail ride from Hamburg. Exceptional friendly crew! It's an old house but with a lot of charm and very well maintained including power outlets as needed and other thoughtful touches. Breakfast is not cheap but of excellent quality.
