Don't be misguided by the 1-star rating - it is much better than many 3 and 4 star hotels I have visited. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The wine cellar can be seen from the hallways and the atmosphere is wonderful and wine-themed. Do not miss a walking tour of the grounds, with the ponds, chapel, and memorial sites for members of the winemaking owner family. Great food as well as wine. Breathtaking views of the whole valley.

Saiaritz offers air conditioned accommodation located in Amurrio in the Ayala Valley, 30 km away from Bilbao. Each room at this hotel comes with terrace, TV and a private bathroom. This is a very cool place. It’s outside Amurrio but if you are in the area it’s a great choice. Hotel is newish and charming and very comfortable, good ac, comfortable bed with good linens, adorable deck with lovely view, good bike storage. They served us a a casual but fine dinner in their restaurant nearby. It’s run by a brother and sister (and maybe a few other relatives) and they were friendly and interesting and kind to us. Very good value in a rural locale.

The place itself brings you to rest, the hydrojet shower was a big bonus. The ham and cheese served at breakfast were of 10/10 quality. We came 5 hours later and this was not a problem at all... and at last, the HYGIENE, which was spotless.
