We were there in October when the walnuts were falling of the tree in the garden, all guests could eat walnuts to their hearts delight ❤️. They offer a simple breakfast and the possibility to have a drink in the evening. The choice is small but it's great quality and typical local stuff. One morning we were asked where we would walk that day. When hearing the answer we were advised to make sure we had enough sunscreen and warm clothes. Although we were prepared well, it's good to get the advice anyway. Loved this hotel, I'd love to come back if I'm in the area again. Hostal Atalaya en Capileira CB is set in the village of Capileira, in the Sierra Nevada National Park. Behind the Atalaya we find mainland Spain’s two highest peaks, Mulhacén and Veleta. Great location, affordable, very clean. Beautiful flowers out the front. Fan in the room was great and sufficient to keep you cool in summer. Host can speak a little English. Was slightly helpful in giving me information about hiking, but not a lot.
