I went to this place to do nothing and rest for a few days. It was really perfect for my purpose. The place is located in a very quiet village. The Roman bath is 3 minutes away on foot. It is a great place to enjoy tranquility. I slept so good there. Hiking is supposed to be very good although I didn't go hiking while I was there. The best thing is though the hosts. Luis and Monica work very hard to make everyone feel comfortable. If they offer dinner as an option, don't ask a question and just take it. The food is incredibly delicious (much better than the hotel restaurant nearby). I really enjoyed my stay there.

Set in the historic centre of Argelès-sur-Mer, this guest house is 2.5 km from the beach. You can visit the twice-a-week market, which surrounds the house. Impeccable. The owners and staff just completely went out of their way to be welcoming, relaxed, helpful, kind (thank you for the coffee in bed our first jet lagged morning, contrary to all the rules, and really needed that compassion). Beautiful, charming place, and good value. If you don’t speak French, it’s not a problem. Coming by train also was not a problem. The staff very kindly arrived to take our bags, and we walked the 5’ minute through the village.

Everything. The grounds were stunning and our room had a huge terrace facing Mt. Canigou. The gorgeous building and gardens were wonderful. There was a self service bar offering wine and spirits at a very reasonable cost. The breakfast room is gorgeous with beautiful views. And the selection at breakfast was expansive. We were the first of the season to use the wonderful pool. Ample parking. Kate and Nick are terrific hosts.
