There is a choice of dining options at The Empress Hotel, including a French-style brasserie restaurant ,or The Piano Bar which serves a full bar menu daily until 9.30pm and a range of drinks. The facility was lovely, the rooms were clean and well-maintained, there was great water pressure in the shower, and a bathtub. The staff was great. The breakfast was excellent, as was the food in the restaurant. There was a piano player and singer both Friday and Saturday nights.

The seafront Ellan Vannin Hotel overlooks Douglas Bay and Douglas Beach. The hotel is 1 minutes’ walk from the beach and within 5 minutes’ walk of the ferry terminal and bus station. The main shops, cafes and restaurants are 2 minutes’ walk away. The room was big and the best mattress to sleep on . Great view of the promenade . Breakfast was superb !
