We stayed at Moorlands for a couple of days over new year's eve and it is an understatement to say that the quality of our stay went far beyond our expectations. The house itself is perfectly clean and authentic, amazingly decorated for a charming vibe. But this was nothing compared to how welcoming our hosts were. They went above and beyond to make us discover the region and made us feel home. We couldn't be more grateful. Thank you both of you for such an amazing experience.

Location was a little difficult to find but we asked locally and then it was a lot easier.

I absolutely loved all the different breakfast choices, especially knowing that every other restaurant in Scotland seems to serve fish and chips, and burgers these days! The hosts are very knowledgeable and don't spare any effort to make your stay memorable.

Guests can also relax in the lounge which features a log fire, and a selection of books and information on the local area. We are so glad we chose to stay at Thistle House rsther than take the easy option of staying in one of the bigger hubs around Loch Lomond.. Sue and Avril are the most delightful hosts. Very welcoming and accommodating. Great breakfast. Not to mention their stunning building with its spectacular view back across Loch Fyne. We had to leave before usual breakfast time and they were even able to arrange a lighter earlier breakfast for us before we left. Look no further for your most peaceful stay in this stunning part of Scotland.

Set in Lochearnhead and only 35 km from Lake of Menteith, Mansewood Country House offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This 4-star country house offers luggage storage space and a concierge service. The accommodation features private check-in and check-out and a shared lounge for guests. Breakfast was super and our evening meal superb, James really gave us a lovely meal and was very clever at giving me a gluten free option. The location is very picturesque both myself my daughter Sharon who I was travelling with, would have no hesitation in recommending Mansewood as a place for a longer stay. Sheila Stevenson.
