The property was located about a 5-10 minute walk from downtown, but in a quiet residential neighborhood……….the hosts were the sweetest people, they gave me wonderfully sweet grapes that I picked off the vine and a bottle of home-made wine…..great experience; also the town itself is very lovely………

Senior Tariel gave me my best experience in Telavi. We visited the wine factory, caught rtveli at the grape fields and visited Nekresi church at the mountain top with unbelievable views. Tariel has a long and fascinating life story and a deep knowledge of Georgian culture. He genuinely loves all his guests. The house is nice and clean, with new and comfortable bed mattresses and pillows.

Featuring a full spa and wellness centre, this hotel is nestled between the Kvareli Lake and the Alazany Valley. Kvareli Lake Resort is located in Kvareli. Words can bearly do justice to this gem! We spent 3 sunny days as a family of 4 loving the golden colours of the autumn leaves surrounding the hotel in its idyllic location at the end of the lake with extraordinary 270 degrees of breathtaking views. Large comfortable rooms and spacious balconies were well thought out with excellent facilities (fridge, Nespresso machine etc..) The spa complex was functional but well equipped with a super steam room, sauna and plunge pool. An infinity pool on the roof overlooking the lake was not heated, but an invigorating dip added to the feeling of wellbeing . We also enjoyed a superb hour long massages. And the food… oh my goodness. The breakfast buffet was a work of art almost too good to eat, but it didn’t stop us! Delicious homemade yoghurt and muesli, wonderful mushrooms cooked in tarragon… and the best eggs Benedict I have ever tasted, with a perfect freshly made hollendaise. Dinner was a learning experience of tasty and freshly cooked Georgian dishes- all exceptional. After all that food were grateful of the free bikes and pedalo! All the staff, without exception, were charming and helpful We can hardly bring ourselves to leave and will be back. One note- at the time of writing (October 2023) a new building is being constructed adjacent to the current hotel. It’s testimony to the wonder of the place that the construction noise didn’t detract too much, but if you are planning a visit soon, it’s worth being aware.

Maria exudes warmth and hospitality and we felt so welcome - like being greeted by a relative you didn't know you had. We arrived during a storm and a power cut throughout Sighnaghi but Maria still conjured tea and fruit as a welcome. Breakfast on the terrace was generous, delicious and spectacular as you look down onto the plain and across to the Caucusses mountains. A special place to return to.

The service we got here was unmatched. Nana organized a pickup for us from the border and also had her driver drive us to Telavi. We had a beautiful balcony and the room and bed was very comfortable. The value for price was exceptional. I would 100% stay here again.
