From Laugarfell you have access to many hiking trails and you are close to the road leading to Askja. Laugarfell is accessible for all types of vehicles. The staff were so friendly and personable. Very clean facilities. The hot pools were amazing, especially after a long day of hiking. Loved the isolated surroundings as well. Very relaxing and secluded.

The rooms have simple decor and come with a TV. Certain rooms have views of the mountain or garden. All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom. This is a very nice place, in a quiet area, with beautiful mountain views. You can see a part of the glacier from there too. The staff is very friendly, breakfast is abundent and good, and the coffee, tea and hot chocolate are avilable all through the day. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the center of Hofn where there are a few nice restaurants. I don't think there is a better place to stay in this area.

Deluxe Rooms and Suites have a seating area where you can relax. Suites also feature a large panoramic window and a bathroom with a bath tub or a walk-in shower. Executive suites feature a balcony with a private hot tub and a king size bed. The room was great and the hotel was beautiful. The sauna and hot tub are especially amazing perks in the winter. The room had a little coffee maker and we asked for a kettle which was provided. The staff was nice and the location was secluded enough to not suffer light pollution but close to meeting spots for tours and the diamond beach.

Glacier World - Hoffell Guesthouse is located in Hoffell. It offers brightly decorated rooms with free WiFi access, and view of mountains. The Route 1 Ring Road is just 3 km away.

We ended up getting stranded for a few days due to weather-related road closures and the staff went above and beyond to help us get a room, plan our unexpected extended stay, and understand the road closure process in Iceland. A seating area and work desk feature in all guest rooms at Seljavellir Guesthouse. Each room has a private bathroom with shower. Some rooms offer mountain views while others feature glacier views. We stayed here for two nights. The view of the mountains with a waterfall was absolutely beautiful and made the stay extra special. The room was cozy, well-furnished, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. There was also a separate shared kitchen which was very convenient for preparing breakfast.
