The staff were all lovely, especially the young gentleman who served us during our meals, and the owner was also very warm and welcoming. The food was great and they were able to cater to our allergies/dietary requirements. I also loved all the retro games and decor - it felt like a lot of love and thought had been put in to the ryokan!

Just a 3-minute walk from the famous Yubatake Hot Spring, Kane Midori offers massage services and its own hot-spring baths. The Japanese rooms have futon beds and a Western bathroom.

Tatami (woven-straw) floors and shoji paper screens complete the zen atmosphere in Kane Midori Ryokan’s air-conditioned rooms. All rooms come with a fridge and electric kettle, while the bathroom(some rooms) has a bathtub and amenities. The inn has a lot of charm. The onsen was really cosy, not too crowded (in January), and beautiful. The staff was warm and welcoming, and this feeling applies to the inn itself. Thank you again for having us!

Guests can also relax in the shared lounge area. This place was an unexpected surprise. From the get go, the service was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious, decent view, great air conditioning, plenty of outlets as well to charge devices, and they even brought up our luggage that we had delivered from Sapporo for us. We were able to also book a private open air onsen as well with the option of sake. It was an amazing experience. We choose to have dinner from the hotel and it was amazing to. It did not disappoint. This was my first Ryokan onsen experience and I loved it.

Built in 1913, the Kusatsu Hotel exhibits the architectural style of the Japanese Taisho Era. This place exceeds my expectations, nice room and great common area in the hotel, also reasonable price.

Guests sleep in comfortable futon bedding, while amenities include yukata robes, a washstand and an attached toilet. Bathroom facilities are shared. We absolutely loved the nature, the onsen, the 100-year-old room with a heated floor, the food, the staff. A wonderful experience!

Dinner and breakfast was all you can eat and the food was fabulous. There were so many variety that I couldn’t sample them all but what I did have were all delicious. In the morning they had fresh squeezed orange juice where you can see the machine squeezing the oranges. How much fresher can it get. Refreshing and Delicious! Relaxed in the huge onsen and enjoyed the oar and drum performance. We had to leave early in the morning and the hotel was able to accommodate our request and shuttle us to the bus stop at a non scheduled time. Thank you Sakurai hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much.
