I was emotional to leave, we had such a wonderful stay. Prefer location for Gion, but also easy walk across the bridge/river to busier part of the city. It felt like a home away from home.

The Todai-ji Temple and Deer Park are a 10-minute stroll away, while Nara Station on the Kintetsu Line is a 7-minute walk. JR Nara Station is 14-minutes away on foot. This accommodation exceeded our expectations. The staff were so friendly and helpful on arrival. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a great view from our room of the deer on the grounds below us. There is a little kitchen along the hall you can use and a small supermarket next door for groceries as well as a public Onsen downstairs. It had absolutely everything you would need.

Free Wi-Fi is available at the entire property and guests can refresh in the public bath. Shijo and Karasuma Station are both within a 10-minute walk away. A good mix between traditional and modern. The bath area in the evening was perfect to relax and get rid of the stress of the day (walking, hiking and so on).

A little higher grade than I normally reserve, but I believe we went during their off season and their prices were extremely reasonable for the stay, so I couldn't pass it up. Impeccably clean, very large, comfortable room, polite and helpful staff. River view room was wonderful to watch the sunsets from. Easily the nicest shower I've ever seen, hotel or otherwise. No real complaints. It was the farthest accomodation to walk to the closest train station we had during out trip, but even that was a pretty walk across the bridge, only maybe about 15 minutes.
