Very good breakfast, they held a fun and educating tea ceremony. The room was nice and comfortable. And when we used their washing machine they asked if they could fold our clothes and bring it to our room so we didn’t have to wait for the laundry to be done. We have only good things to say about Inase Otsu Machiya and the staff.

We were given a room on a high floor and from the window you could see the beautiful view of the lake. The service was exceptional, wide beds and very comfortable mattresses. Cleaning and changing of towels every day. The breakfast was plentiful. The hotel has several restaurants: Chinese, Japanese, French and also a coffee bar with a large selection of cakes. The only disappointment is that this bar is only open until 6 pm.

The interior is so fancy, I should have booked it for longer duration, considering how easy it is to reach Kyoto from here. It is double the price of a hotel from Kyoto, but the facilities make up for it. I had the Superior Twin Room - Non-Smoking and the view was amazing and I was lucky enough to catch the fountain show at the docks, which can be viewed clearly from the balcony.
