We only stayed for one night but could’ve easily spent a whole week relaxing here. The owner is incredibly kind, and the entire house is just beautiful. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

JR Karuizawa Station is a 15-minute drive away. The hosts were adorable. The room was very clean and comfortable, in a nice neighborhood. The breakfast was the best we had in all our stay in Japan.

Our room was large with a private wash closet. (Shower room is common). They picked us up and dropped us to the train, took us up to the snow monkeys and offered suggestions and advice about locations in town. They are always kind and we were happy to run into them in the hallways and say hello. They have male and woman baths and a private osen also available. You can place your order a traditional breakfast in advance of the morning if you want one. They have a map of the local area with recommendations for food. We really enjoyed our stay.

A free shuttle is offered from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 10-minute drive away. I had a very pleasant stay at Suminoyu. The facilities are great - there’s a public bath of the property on the top floor. The room is spacious and well-kept, and the futon comfortable. The food quality for dinner and breakfast is top notch. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and professional. 10/10 would recommend and consider to be back again when I get the chance. ありがとうございます!

A small 6-room inn with Ryokan meals and cosy interiors, Yasuragi is just a few minutes drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park and an 8-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station. Hot-spring baths are featured. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free pick-up service from Yudanaka Station is provided. The family that owns the ryokan was welcoming, kind and accommodating. The ofuro was very clean, good temperature and relaxing. About 40 minutes away from Yakebitaiyama on a snowy day, this ryojan is a wonderful stop to enjoy.

Exceptional breakfast! Very friendly staff. Loved it
