This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. This was the best value for money stay I had this trip. Highly recommend opting for dinner to be included with your stay. The steamed vegetables and meat with rice and soup was a sumptuous, healthy yet delicious meal especially at the end of a day's big hike. The dorm beds were comfortable, and it was a really nice luxury to get a private onsen experience (especially the outdoor one). Though there was no convenience store around, the hostel has a very good range of snacks, instant noodles, buns at good prices so you don't have to worry about not having food around.

A 1000 year-old Buddhist temple, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in offers Japanese-style accommodation, a beautiful garden and free WiFi. Guests are free to attend Buddhist morning services, the Goma fire ritual and meditation. The food was excellent. And the staff was really nice

Located in the sacred Mount Koya area, 高野山 宿坊 桜池院 -Koyasan Shukubo Yochiin- is a historic temple and an accommodation for visitors. Just to the left of entering sanmon gate, there is a stone garden created by the famous Mirei Shigemori and designated a natural monument by the Japanese government. Loved our stay here! The room was newly renovated. Clean, modern, and really comfortable. Having our own bathroom was a nice bonus, and everything felt fresh and well taken care of.

Ashita no Mori is located in the Kawayu Onsen district of Hongu, 20 km from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 23 km from Kumanoshi Kiwakozan Museum and 33 km from Kamikura Shrine. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The property is non-smoking and is set 12 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine.

The guest house is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Amazing place by the river and hot springs and for me it was absolutely the best place in the Komano kodo trail.the rooms are big, clean and comfortable with a river view. breakfast was yummy and the hot spring was private - real treat. The place run by a family all with lovely smile and beautiful good and kind eyes. Great value, highly recommended!

Great ryukan , Best feeling to take a full rest here after days on a trail, Onsen water in this area is one of the best I have experienced in japan. Full course Dinner and Breakfast is just wonderful , Staff and service is amazing !!!

RIght next to the station. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Really good onsen that can be booked - officially 30 minutes per room, but we had a 4 person room and they could help us book a longer timeslot if it wasn't too busy. The whole house is traditionally Japanese and simply beautiful. The hotel also has a little kitchen with a microwave and a vending machine. Very practical!

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Originally developed as a lodging for the temples’ pilgrims, it conducts Buddhist services every morning that guests can attend. Nankai Koyasan Train Station is a 15-minute drive away. The dinner and breakfast tasted so good, best vegan meal I’ve ever had! Very nice room felt very traditional. It snowed so made our time even funner! The meditation with the monks was awesome and the location is also very perfect!
