The hotel itself is perched on a hillside with an exceptional 180-degree view of Kandy, including the Temple of the Tooth and the Kandy Lake. We loved sipping fresh fruit juice in the serene garden while watching the bustling city below from this calm, peaceful retreat. Adding to the charm is the house itself—an architectural beauty designed by Geoffrey Bawa, blending old-world elegance with thoughtful detail. The decor, especially the original Picasso plates, gave the space a unique and artistic vibe. The bed and breakfast is 400 metres from Lakeside Adventist Hospital. The Bandaranaike International Airport is 84 km away. This place is set just atop the city of Kandy. An easy 8 minutes ride to the city centre, but without all the hustle and bustle. Sit on the balcony, and byo your own bottle of wine. The two young lads staffing the home are absolutely awesome. They are respectful of your privacy, but always helpful and kind. Those two lads made it a really really exceptional stay for us. Delicious authentic breakfast, clean rooms, great view, and peaceful.

Bandaranaike International Airport is 127 km from the resort. Very great place to relax, a bit far from the town, but definitely worth it, food was also good. Good value for money.

Boasting a garden, shared lounge and views of lake, Samindra Villa is set in Kandy, 2.8 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. I had a fantastic stay at this lovely house in the hills just outside Kandy. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature, with stunning views over a forest valley — the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. The house itself is modern, beautifully renovated, and very comfortable. But what really stood out was the warmth of the couple who own it. From the first moment, they made me feel truly at home — more like a guest in their home than a customer. In the morning they prepared a delicious homemade Sri Lankan breakfast. One of the highlights was the coconut rotti — absolutely incredible — along with fresh fruit and other traditional dishes. You could really taste the care they put into everything. They also went out of their way to help me when the airline delayed my baggage. They followed up and made sure it arrived safely at the house, which I really appreciated. If you’re visiting Kandy and looking for a quiet, authentic place with genuine hospitality, I can’t recommend this stay enough.
