Rooms - Our rooms were quite spacious and very clean. The only thing I would like to bring to attention was that the steps leading up to our room were in need of some repair. otherwise, the blankets, beds - excellent The food and the variety provided was just right.

The Best Western Sur is located in the picturesque city of Sur, famous as an old fishing village and traditional manufacturer of dhows. It is a very nice hotel, nice pool and pool side service. Very nice restaurant with great food, friendly service and reasonably priced. They served wine if you wanted.

We spent 2 nights here so we could experience the desert through the 24-hour cycle. The sleeps were warm and comfy, the meals tasty, and service impeccable from Assad, Joel and Joce. The owner Hamid, is a hardworking 15-year desert tourism veteran, and had lots of tales. Campfire and meal times make for great conversations with other guests. We paid OMR25 for the 25-min return 4x4 transfer from Bidiyah, and OMR10 per person for camel rides and dune bashing, both loads of fun. This is a licensed camp, which uses largely solar power and pumps up water from a 150-metre well.
