CanadaLocation: hotel in Bashamachi, Kansai area. Streets not touristy and quiet with lots of restaurants and convenience stores. Compared to area around Yokohama Station and Mirato Mirai, Bashamachi has history, hence character. Walking distance to Minatomirai Line (closest), Municipal Subway Blue Line and JR Negishi Line. Also walking distance to Minato Mirai 21 Central District (to reach Yokohama Landmark Tower, Queens Square etc), Minato Mirai 21 Shinko area (to reach Cup Noodle Museum, Red Brick Museum etc), Yokohama Stadium and Yamashita Park. Further on, you could reach Chinatown and Motomachi (and return to Route Inn by Minatomirai Line). I found the Izezakicho shopping/walking street, immediately across the opposite side of JR Kannai Station, worthwhile visiting because of many local shops and restaurants. Staff: excellent and helpful. Upon check-in, I was drenched with my baggage due to heavy rain despite a short 1-minute walk from the #5 exit of Bashamachi Station. The front-desk staff instantly gave me a towel to dry. I was impressed. Also, after the first night, I found the a/c noisy. They changed my room on the same floor and view the next day. Room: totally adequate for single occupancy. I love the bedside lamp with adjustable intensity and reachable switch. My room is facing the Kanagawa Prefecture Museum of Cultural History with the big green dome. It was always quiet. Breakfast: the opted predominately-Japanese breakfast is delicious and adequate in terms of variety. They want you to choose the time frame for breakfast. I chose 06:30 to 07:30. Onsen: Delighted to have after a tiring day of sightseeing. The sliding door between the changing area and the onsen is not automatic. Some guests forgot to close it after entering or leaving. It didn't bother me. Value: excellent. I am considering Route Inn again on my next visit to Osaka in 2025.
