We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. The food was excellent with very impressive presentations. We had half-board and the latest breakfast serving was at 8:30, the latest dinner at 18:30. Not much happening in the evening, although the onsens were great. It felt like a spa-resort more than a bustling hotel, but we enjoyed it. We had a traditional room with futons and a lovely sea-view. It was simple but comfortable and clean.

Let me say from the outset, this property is getting on but for us, that was part of the charm. The staff were lovely, very helpful & nice We loved our room & the amazing view, out to the bay. The balcony was great, room was huge, onsen was the icing on the cake. Indoor & outdoor baths! Just wonderful & restful after a week in Tokyo. The walk from the station was a bit of a hike but we enjoyed it, getting a good look around. On check out though, the staff rang a taxi for us to head back to the station. Fare was reasonable, quick ride back. The food at dinner & breakfast was plentiful, lots of variety, tasty. We loved it and it saved thinking about heading out to find meals. We loved wearing our yukatas to dinner! Plenty of drink options, including beer, saki etc. The electric bikes were brilliant. In 3 hours of free hire, we had a huge time sightseeing! This was an excellent facility. Sure, there's some peeling paint, some wear & tear, but it is an older property & for us, it was a delightful stay made even better with a lovely team at the front desk. All in all, we thought it was great value for what we paid.

It was very nice and traditionally Japanese. I had a big room for myself and could use the Onsen. It was amazing.

What an experience! We stayed at Mizumari during our honeymooon and I can honestly say we have never felt more welcomed, relaxed, and cared for than we did at Mizumari. Taiyo and his staff are truly incredible and work to meet your every need. For example, when we arrived, we mentioned a specific drink that we had enjoyed on our trip. The next day, Taiyo had sent someone to find the item and served it to us in several different forms. Everyone was so attentive and kind, and we were incredibly sad to leave! The food is incredible and plentiful- the best we had in Japan. We really loved the fresh and creative nature of the food, with a nice mix of seafood and meat dishes including locally sourced foods. The courses keep on coming so be sure to save space! We also appreciated that the staff was very helpful in recommending drinks pairings that go with the meal (and which are included in the booking price). The space was recently rennovated and has a very clean and modern look. We stayed in room 1, which has a large living room, separate bedroom and a patio overlooking the creek with a gorgeous and large onsen tub fed by the hotsprings. The entire space feels very private and quiet. The location is also great, a few steps away from the start of the seven waterfalls hike (which we loved- we had it all to ourselves when we went around 10am), and only a 20minute drive from the coast, where there is limitless hiking and exploring.
