The breakfast was traditional Japanese, very healthy & plentiful. There were a few items I didn’t eat though my husband ate everything. Taz’s mother waitressed ( at the age of 87!) & was always smiling & helpful. 3 small onsens - enough for couples. My husband’s aches & pains disappeared after a dip. Easy walk to centre of town & lovely park. On a weekend both areas are lit up. The park is particularly beautiful.

The facilities are clean. The staff were very nice and greets me everytime i come back to the hotel. It felt like living in a Japanese House. Breakfast was delicious and I had multiple servings of the rice roll and miso soup. The room is nice as well. I can walk out with my pajamas and can bring my towel outside to use for the public bath houses. Lighting can be controlled multiple ways in the room.

We had a wonderful stay at the property. To begin with the hotel is very well located in the center of Kusatsu with access to the Yubatake by foot. This allowed us to come and go at any time and take walks in the area. The hotel itself is very modern with a Japanese design. We chose the dinner and breakfast set and were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent, and the food was sourced with local ingredients and used dishes from a local artisan. I have stayed at other Ryokans in the past and the food was decent but this property really exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and thoughtfulness of cuisine. The staff were all very professional, courteous and kind. I was very impressed by their level of attentiveness. I really recommend the dinner and breakfast set to travelers who want to enjoy local cuisine but with an elevated and modern twist. After dinner we enjoyed the hot springs on the property and thanks to that had a very good rest. Onsen culture in Japan is phenomenal and the quality of the hot springs here was very good. The bath itself is also had an open air portion (covered from view of course) which allowed us to enjoy the surrounding nature and night sky. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and my only regret was that the stay was not longer.

Staff was fantastic, helpful and courteous. Even good at taking photos. The check in procedure was very smooth. Rooms were large and comfortably sized for 4 persons. The outdoor bath was clean and hot at a good temperature. Dinner and breakfast was served very well by a staff member. I appreciate his enthusiasm. Location is fantastic - a few minutes to the park and outdoor onsen, and a few minutes down the road to the town center. Ample parking available as well.

Both dinner and breakfast were very good, they even made some changes for me as I do not eat fish and have some food allergies. Room was nice and onsen was great as well. You can also book a private onsen, which we enjoyed to have mixed bath. Good location. Very professional and friendly staff. A bit retro vibe, but it suits that place very nicely.

The sulphur onsen. The place is high up in the mountains and is very relaxing and chill. The outdoor bath located a little way away from the main building provides a nice view and a nice hot soak. The buffet style meals are tasty and there are a wide variety to choose from.
