The gardens and small pathways between offer a nice area to meander in any season. The homes are extremely well kept and it truly feels like stepping back in time. The warmth of traditional woodwork and tatami offer an incredible experience. Washrooms are renovated and modern. Public bath is located steps away within the facility. Food was exceptional with myriad of unique local tastes and seasonal twists.

The kaiseki dinner was AMAZING. They really loaded us up with good quality, buttery hida Beef grilled over a charcoal irori. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of the dinner - a lovingly prepared multi course meal with grilled veggies and beef, soba noodles, tempura, sashimi, dessert. It’s a very local place for many Japanese tourists - most of the signs, menus were all in Japanese so we had some trouble with translation. Staff were lovely and helpful!
