There was no need to leave the building to have a satisfying bath—indoor or outdoor. I loved the private bath, and the overall tradition of the ryokan. The staff was so accommodating of our late check-in, took care to deliver our luggage to the station while we go to the Snow Monkey Park, and were attentive to our needs.

Akira and his mother were incredibly accommodating and made us feel at home. They made me dinner and breakfast (gluten free and vegetarian) which was amazing. Their private Onsen is lovely and the room was really comfortable. Would highly recommend

Tawaraya Ryokan is a 10-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and a 15-minute walk from Heiwa Kannon. Shiga Kogen Ski Resort is a 30-minute drive away. The property was very cosy, it was a lovely experience to stay in an original ryokan, and have a quiet time in the onsen. The staff was extremely kind and friendly, and the location was just a short walk from the train station.

With an open-air bath, the 2-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Guests can use the spa facilities, or enjoy mountain views. Our family absolutely loved this place and the hosts. I would definitely stay here again

Offering a free-use reservable hot-spring bath, shared indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths, and traditional multi-course dinners with Shinshu beef, Shibu Hotel is 8 minutes from Yudanaka Train Station on the free shuttle. The traditional rooms have Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Owners and staff are extremely pleasant and kind. Onsens were wonderful. We booked a Japanese room and it was huge! And the free shuttle from station and to snow monkey park was an added bonus!

Japanese dishes featuring local ingredients are available at the ryokan. Dinner is served in a private dining room. The staff are so kind and helpful. It was such a relaxing stay and the food was very restorative. They picked us up from the train station and dropped us at the monkey park.

Guests can soak in the indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and female guests can enjoy wearing colourful Japanese Yukata robes. Yudanaka Train Station is a 10-minute drive away and free Wi-Fi is available in the shared lounge. Great location and fantastic onsen at the hotel. The breakfast is absolutely worth it when you start here, it was so good.

Yasuragi Inn’s Japanese-style rooms have tatami (woven-straw) floors, futon beds and a flat-screen TV. Each room is air-conditioned. A fridge, an electric kettle and yukata robes are provided. All guests have access to the on-site hot spring public baths, and they can be reserved for private use. (please inquire at the front desk for more information.) This was the highlight of our trip so far. A real hidden gem. The private onsen was beautiful and the traditional dinner is not to be missed.
