It is set 3.9 km from Tobu Nikko Station and features a concierge service. The ryokan provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. My friend and I stayed at Morinouta Hotel for one night, and it turned out to be such a lovely experience. The staff were genuinely friendly at one point, the host came over and asked if we wanted some homemade cheesecake (obviously yes, because… cheesecake). They also gave us tips on places to check out nearby, which was really helpful. The rooms were cosy and comfortable, with huge windows that are perfect for sitting by with a cup of tea or for taking slightly dramatic, Victorian-style photos if you’re in the mood.

The 3-star ryokan features mountain views and is 43 km from Kegon Falls. The accommodation features a hot spring bath, hot tub, restaurant and free WiFi. We went there at the end of our 2 1/2 week Japan travel for three nights. This is a wonderful retreat with an outstanding Onsen experience (three mixed outside hot spring onsen pools and another one outside onsen for woman only. All have a relaxing waterfall view. We were supplied with Yukata clothing and had delicious Kaiseki meals. On our last morning, without asking for it, we received a continental breakfeast instead of the Japanese one. We participated in a nice star gazing tour and did a great hike to the marshland (about 12 km, 4 hours there and back). We strongly recommend to come for more than one night, as travel there takes almost a day.

I was originally interested in this hotel because I read that the Onsen had a Museum full of Kishio Suga's work. I had been following this amazing Japanese artist for a number of years... so that fact was a deciding factor for me. But, the Onsen, the staff, the care that we felt they put into everything they did, the atmosphere of the place, the gardens also designed by Kishio Suga, the delightful guests we had the pleasure of meeting, our room and the food we were served - and let's not forget the tour of the museum! - made me love this place. Itamuro Onsen Daikokuya has history. Someone told us that the Onsen was 500 years old. Most of the Japanese guests we met there went to purely relax. The kind and capable staff take amazing care of all the guests: A Japanese friend in Tokyo told me I should celebrate the Winter Solstice while I was in Nasushiobara. She explained that on that one day, it had always been traditionally celebrated by putting YUZU fruit in Japanese baths and eating something made of pumpkin. I asked the hotel about all this. I really don't think it was part of their plan... but, they did it all: the YUZU in the baths and the specially prepared Pumpkin desserts. It was all to please us, their guests, and make sure our stay was perfect. I was so grateful and felt so pampered and happy. I enjoyed that fruit in the Japanese bath more than you can imagine. So, If you want to relax in a beautiful Onsen with history, go see great art at the. Suga museum, to have a beautiful experience, and be pampered in a very Japanese sort of way...you must come to Itamuro Onsen Daikokuya.

At the ryokan, all units include bed linen and towels. The customer service was beyond excellent, the staff were very attentive and caring and accommodating. The hotel is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. the room was spacious, comfortable, gorgeous with massive picture windows. It's out in nature, no wires or buildings or people in sight. The included breakfast, which they adapted to be vegetarian for me, was one of the best and healthiest meals we had in all of our Japan travels.

The place is wonderful , in the very core of Nikko national park. The dinner and the breakfast were magic. The magic was also in the onsen. I highly recommand this ryokan
Comfortable rooms/lovely and comfy futons/ however the room is a little dated. The onsen is great, we enjoyed it and the fireworks on the day we stayed were spectacular and fun.
It was our first time staying in a ryokan, and it did gave us a really good impression. Property itself was nice, located in a small town beside the river. Room was facing the river so we can hear the soothing noise from the river. Dinner was excellent--food kept on coming, great quality, great variety. They even managed to cater our diet (without pork and alcohol). I love the outdoor onsen. It's very relaxing to soak in the hot water facing the river.
Rooms are very big and comfy, onsen is small but very nice to enjoy. Nikko is quiet and calm and so was this location. Breakfast included was the right choice because it‘s hard to find something to eat nearby especially in the morning. Ryokan is amazingly beautiful and futon was adequate.
Close to a beautiful bridge and river, big room, comfortable beds, big onsen, friendly staff, free beer at dinner buffet. Comfortable yukatas of different colours to choose from.
The staff was amazing, very kind and helpful, they went the extra mile for us and we were very thankful! We loved our room which was very spacious and a private onsen in the beautiful garden. Super clean and with all we needed. Also the futon was very comfortable.
Beautiful onsen, very welcoming staff, good location, very confortable (sleeping on tatami and futon), wide room, storage space.
Location is close to the temples. Yukatas provided are vary comfortable. Onsen was fun. Somehow, sleep on Futons was best in the entire trip.
Onsen was moderately sized with an outdoor component containing amazing sulphuric hot spring water. Service and dinner was also impeccable, never felt so welcomed at a ryokan before. Would definitely recommend for couples!
