The facilities were good. We made use of the pool, sauna, and steam room. Not overly busy, so it was lovely and relaxing. We had our evening meal in the lounge, the food was good as were the portion size's. Breakfast was nice, but they had run out of a few things by the time we got there at 9.30, but they did replenish some of them whilst we were there.Room was very clean and the staff lovely.

Breakfast was scrambled egg, cooked almost to perfection (I like my husband's eggs!), local butter provided in lovely soft little pats. Tea excellent. We had dinner one evening which was also excellently cooked and presented, and served. We told the staff it was our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, and they went out of their way to provide little cakes and a lovely card.

The Stratford Upon Avon bus tour was good with audio commentary throughout. Some very nice restaurants & pubs to try out & some lovely walks around the town & along the River Avon too.
Parking may be more difficult when staying in the centre of Stratford Upon Avon, unless hotels / Guest houses have allocated parking, but as we caught the train, this was not an issue. The train station is approximately 10 to 15 minutes walk from the centre of Stratford Upon Avon, & the walking route is mainly flat.

Great history especially if one is a Shakespeare aficionado.
Great history especially if one is a Shakespeare aficionado. I was drawn more to the architecture and history as well as the walks along the canal. Also, theater is great, of course. We were unable to see a Shakespeare play, but instead saw "English" at the Royal Shakespeare Company's newest venue "The Other Place", a facility established by the RSC after a top staffer shook things up a bit in 2016 and suggested being more relevant

Stratford-upon-Avon is a beautiful town.
Stratford-upon-Avon is a beautiful town. There are lots of green spaces offering respite from the lovely shopping areas. Eating out is a treat. We're vegan and had lots of choice. The Plantarium cafe is a must visit. Lots of reference to the history of Stratford and its connection to Shakespeare add to the charm. We only went for a short break but it's somewhere we'd definitely go back to.

I cannot but express my concern that in the light of the fire, Booking .com did not carefully that potential guests had been informed and that the use of technology to look after potential guests interests was most inappropriate.

Lovely place to spend a weekend, the river and canal basin area are very pretty, loads of really good restaurants, places to stay and things to do. The Shakespeare birthday celebrations/parade is great (mid April). We did the marathon there and that's a great event if you are keen on running.

Stratford upon Avon is great for a short trip and easy to get to from London or anywhere from the Midlands. Particularly nice in spring. There are options for boat hires along the river, or go on a boating trip with someone else steering. Lots of little shops to explore. The big draw is the RSC. So nice to take in a play there with a pre-theatre dinner and explore the town.

The character because of the properties age and the ample parking, the village is beautiful and the drive into Stratford upon Avon was really pleasant. The room was large and clean with a good sized bathroom and loads of hot water. The staff at the hotel are amazing, very friendly and welcoming making you feel like valued guests from the greeting on arrival to checking out. Breakfast was perfect with various options from a full English, toast, cereal to yogurt and pastries with loads of coffee, tea and juice.
The location could not be better: right in the middle of the town and close to everything that may interest a tourist or a theatregoer. Like many old buildings in Stratford, the hotel extends back from the street a good distance, which helps make rooms quiet. Breakfast was well cooked (if you want a cooked breakfast) and offered many attractive options, including fresh fruit. Staff worked hard to keep rooms clean and tidy - and supplied with tea-making materials. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Our whole stay was flawless. The B&B is run by a family, both mum Philippa and son Philip were amazing from the beginning. They catered to our requests without any hesitation and made our two days stay a very pleasant one. A quiet countryside which is less than 10 minutes from the centre of Stratford upon Avon, is a perfect place to stay while visiting the town. There are also beautiful pathways and river walk just at the doorstep. Highly recommended!
The location is outstanding! The room was a suite and plenty of space- well decorated, comfortable, very nice. The food was great-- had a lunch and a breakfast on-site. Delicious. Loved the car park also. Was able to walk very comfortably to the Royal Shakespeare Company for dinner and a play. Walked the next day in to the town and enjoyed Stratford upon Avon. Will be back for sure! Great hotel, great town!
Spacious, attractive hotel. Superbly placed for visiting Stratford upon Avon. Well maintained garden and terrace to sit and enjoy a drink or lunch. We were just there for one night on our way to the Cotswolds but had a very pleasant stay. We traveled with our dog who was welcomed by all. Our room was a good size and the large bed was very comfortable.
The Townhouse is one of my favorite hotels I have ever been to! It is charming and inviting, plus the staff go above and beyond. The restaurant is incredibly good and the bar offers a fun atmosphere. Additionally, the location is quite central and it’s an easy to many of Stratford-upon-Avon’s most popular tourist sights.
We had a room in the original building with a partial view of the river. The hotel location was excellent for a theatre visit. Also parking was easy and cheap, £8 overnight in the hotel car park. We would pick this hotel again for a stop in Stratford upon Avon.
Perfect location, room was spotless and comfortable, breakfast and service was amazing and location from office to town centre was less than 5 mins…. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is planning a stay over in Stratford upon Avon
Lovely hotel in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. We were here for an event at the literary festival. Room was ideal - perfect temperature, well furnished - stylish decor with nice touches such as complimentary drinks and snacks.
This has to be the best hotel in Stratford Upon Avon, the staff are so friendly, kind and attentive. The rooms are gorgeous and perfectly centrally located. Breakfast is top class and all is good value.
Perfect location. We walked into the centre of Stratford Upon Avon during the day which was 1.5km from the hotel. Friendly staff. Lots of choice at breakfast. Spa facilities were lovely.
Location was great! Closer to nearby motorway.
Close to Stratford upon Avon town centre. Close to lovely canal walks for the dog in my spare time. Cheap price for family of 3 plus dog
Excellent location, friendly staff, great breakfast. This is the ideal stay in an old hotel with a pub ! Our breakfast service was amazing and Thomas, our waiter was the best!
