Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani, hotel in Honolulu

Located in the heart of Waikiki, 2 minutes' walk to Waikiki Beach, Halepuna Waikiki is a luxury boutique hotel surrounded by shopping and dining.

The room and whole hotel was very modern and impressive. The staff were extremely helpful, and friendly. The WiFi worked excellently and I had video calls to EU/US without problems. Didn't get time to visit conference center or gym, but I am sure they are nice as well. The washing toilet was amazing! 😍

Wayfinder Waikiki, hotel in Honolulu

This Honolulu hotel is 5 minutes' walk from Waikiki Beach and overlooks Ala Wai golf course. The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool and WiFi is included in the price and provided in all rooms.

The Wayfinder Waikiki was one of our favorite stay! The hotel is an exceptional location, right in Waikiki, walking distance from market, shop, beach and restaurants. The design of the lobby and bedroom were beautiful and welcoming. Loved the beach vibe! We had a little balcony with view on the golf course and the street. The bed and pillows were extra comfortable and we had a working ac which was very nice as it was hot and humid in Hawaii. The team were always incredibly welcoming and helpful. The Swimmingpool with tropical wall, coconut, free Hawaiian mint tea, sunscreen and aloe Vera was so nice to chill at! They have a jacuzzi and a bar right there too. We got tokens for drinks and coupon for the restaurant downstairs which happened to be one of our restaurant on the island. So so fresh and tasty! We tried breakfasts, lunches and dinner and loved everything we ordered. Valet was included in the parking. Very convenient as there is not a lot of parking space around. It’s sometimes full so reserve for your entire stay at arrival. I could not recommend more! We both loved our stay there and will be back there next time!

FAQs about hotels in Honolulu

A True Water Sports Paradise

Standing proudly on the island of Oahu in the Pacific Ocean, Honolulu is the Hawaiian capital, meaning "a sheltered bay." Spreading along the white sandy beaches and supported by the strong back of the volcanic mountains, it's a real island paradise.

Honolulu's most popular and famous district, Waikiki, features the stunning Waikiki Beach decorated with hundreds of surfboards, palms and lounge chairs. It’s also a center for the city’s nightlife and shopping, especially along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues.

As the most popular activities in Honolulu include surfing, snorkeling, canoeing and other water sports, it's no surprise the city has a number of sandy beaches. Try Hanauma Bay, a crescent-shaped beach with rolling, green hills behind it.

For fans of hiking and exploring, nature awaits at Diamond Head Mountain, a volcanic tuff cone where you can admire the panoramic view of the city. There is also the Bishop Museum with the world’s largest collection of Hawaiian and Pacific artifacts and the Waikiki Aquarium with over 490 species of marine fauna and flora.

From hotels near Honolulu International Airport to hotels near the beach, Booking.com has plenty of properties, from cheap to luxury, for your Honolulu trip.

Honolulu is a big-ish city, it has a big mall, lots of tall buildings, government buildings, homeless people, etc... If you are looking for a slower more relaxed vacation with fewer people and buildings, look at the other islands, or at least don't stay in Honolulu/Waikiki. On the other hand, there are a lot of great little food places and more than their fair share of brew pubs.

Love the warm balmy atmosphere, the trade winds mean you never feel hot or sticky. And the water is so warm at the beach. Love the gardens everywhere and the lovely paved footpaths. The whole tourist area is kept very clean neat and beautiful. The food is fantastic. There is so much free entertainment too. Live bands and hula performances outdoors everywnere. Once you're there you don't have to spend much money at all and there is so much to do and see. You can get cheap food at the food courts plus ABC and Seven-11 stores. And The Bus is so cheap and the drivers are very helpful. Don't miss the fee Military Museum at Fort Derussy park. And the zoo is wonderful. Plus of course the two best attractions, Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Centre. And swimming at Waikiki beach in late afternoon and sunset is superb.

When we arrived the hotel gave us a really nice room with a beautiful view and left a little anniversary gift. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, our room was cleaned nicely during room service. One bedroom apartment was really spacious and has a full kitchen so you can cook. Location is great it’s on the quieter side of Waikiki I guess, there is a car rental next door so it was really handy. Parking was $25 for 24 hours which was cheaper than other hotels I think. Would 100% stay here again.

The rooms and bathrooms were large. The location was perfect, close to everything. The plants and such on the property were beautiful and made it feel like Hawaii! It was nice having a continental breakfast, ice water and a lanai. It was also nice to have beach towels to use when going to the beach! This hotel is expensive, very expensive, but the room is so clean and the facilities amazing that I really felt it was worth it. If you are someone, like myself, who likes extreme cleanliness, I would say this is for you. Location is central, in the heart of Waikiki, so you can walk easily to the beach, if you are a beach person. All in all, if I'll ever come back to Hawaii, this is def the place I would stay again.

The hotel's common spaces are great - pool, lobby, restaurants were all great. The rooms were on par with a Holiday Inn. They desperately need remodeling. Super cheap bathrooms and finishes. The only offer room cleaning every other day & with being right on the beach with kids this is not acceptable for the rates they charge.

Accommodation in Waikiki (and all Hawaii) is super expensive, so nowhere is cheap. But, compared with other hotels this place represented good value. Staff were awesome, location was great. Waaaaay overpriced. Welcome to Hawaii. Clean enough. Friendly. Great location if you have business at the airport. Very basic. I’ve stayed at awesome 5 stars for less $$$ Oahu sucks.
