We have booked an apartment with pool and gorgeous ocean view. The remote location is fantastic and the next tavernas not to far away (Nas/Armenistis). The host is very polite and offered a great hospitality. She tries to help you to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We can really recommend this apartment. There is even access to a small beach just a few meters away.

We enjoyed everything : the kindness of our hosts, the location, the residence is awesome! We stayed in a wonderful suite, made with good taste (beautiful wood furniture for example) and the terrace was very pleasant. We had all the attention and some good advice for the local restaurants and feasts (panigiri) from our hosts. We, as a family of 5 with 3 young kids, highly recommend this accommodation. We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home in Raches, Ikaria. The house was spotlessly clean and truly one of those rare places where you instantly feel at home. It was incredibly comfortable, and the thoughtful treats left for us were such a kind touch. Although you have to take a short dirt road to get there, it’s absolutely worth it for the stunning sunset views. Highly recommended!

We are currently staying in Karavostamo but fancied a change of scenery. I had holidayed in Greece for 21 of the 26 years together, but recently my partner died and I have found it difficult to settle this year. The Mesaktis Rooms were exactly what I needed. A beautiful tranquil setting, our terrace looked down on to a small lagoon. The owners gave me and my friend homemade lemonade and the most delicious homegrown figs, which we consumed whilst overlooking the lagoon, which was home to over 30 turtles! We were given bread with which to feed them. What a sight to feast your eyes on while we drank our delicious lemonade! The accommodation is rustic, it’s not luxurious, but it’s what we both loved about this place. There are tavernas beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to make a simple meal. There are tavernas maybe 5 minutes walk away, a mini market next door, and over the road there is probably the best beach on Ikaria - Mesaktis beach. At the far end is a lagoon in which you can see even more turtles! The hosts, as you may have picked up on, were so generous and warm. I miss the place, the kittens and Sadi the dog already. This has been the standout experience so far of this 3 week Greek island hopping trip. I absolutely loved it, and it helped me along in my grief journey. To the owners: thank you for your hospitality, for letting me leave the car on your premises after we had checked out, and sorry for taking the room key!

This was one of the most beautiful places to stay. Alex was there to greet us and Jannus his father said good bye and gave is delicious grapes. The house was super comfortable, totally peaceful and an oasis of calm. We had a wonderful view of the sea and sunset over the sea from our balcony. The lovely (almost) private beach was a 2-3 minute walk down. The sea was crystal clear, a beautiful blue and we could see the fishes swimming with us. An amazing bay to swim in - even on the wavy days. Naz beach is 10 minutes away, where we enjoyed fantastic food at Thea's tavern. If you want to get away from everything, read, relax, and swim - peaceful even in the height of August holidays, Icarus house is for you. Ikaria has the friendliest and most helpful people. I now know why Ikaria is a blue zone and why people live for ever - beauty, sun, sea, good food, lots of hills and mountains to climb and a friendly, socially cohesive people.
