Gabriel and Jorge, the hosts, can create an atmosphere of being welcome, of being home - not being client XYZ… The suites/apartments have roughly the size of a big hotel room (including a nice bathroom in the rocks), but with a big terrace facing the sea. The mattresses are of good quality so the basis for a good sleep is ensured. The kitchen (which is part of the room) has a single ring (induction) and a microwave - enough to prepare a breakfast, but not a full-fledged dinner. But there are enough nice restaurants in Calheta centre or… one can book a meal prepared by Gabriel, who is not only a great host but also an excellent chef. It was really a wonderful time we had at this place, thanks Gabriel and Jorge!

The view was fabulous and the home (especially the front garden) was beautiful! The host was also very attentive and made us feel at home. The onsite parking was also very convenient as we had a rental car.

Amazing flat, extremely clean, with the most comfortable bed and all equipment you could need. Great location with beautiful views. Owners are very kind and helpful, the lady waited for me late at night when I got a little lost. I would definitelly come again!

Our stay was wonderful! The hosts were very kind and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The property is surrounded by stunning views in every direction, and we especially enjoyed the lovely animals around. It was the perfect place to stay. We had an amazing stay at Casa Jolie. The house is spacious, spotless, and offers a breathtaking view of the ocean from the terrace and two balconies. It’s so comfortable that it was honestly hard to leave and explore the island. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were modern and well equipped. We also appreciated having a washing machine, dryer, and even a steam iron — all of which made our stay extra convenient. Self check-in and check-out were smooth and easy, making the arrival and departure stress-free. Gaspar was a wonderful host — welcoming and thoughtful. He greeted us with delicious local treats, including honey cake and fresh potato bread. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by banana plantations, which gives it a peaceful and authentic Madeiran feel. Parking is available directly at the property, and the location is ideal as a base to explore the island — whether you’re heading to the mountains, the coast, or nearby trails. One of the most beautiful and less crowded levada walks — Levada do Moinho and Levada Nova — starts just a 4-minute walk from the house. We’d definitely love to return and highly recommend Casa Jolie to anyone visiting Madeira.
