We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the comfortable, well-equipped Dreamcatcher cottage. Our stay gave us the chance to unwind and immerse ourselves in a slower-paced, simpler way of life. A few crumbling cottages, makeshift animal pens and the obvious challenge of rural life added to what was a unique and thought-provoking experience. The view of the mountain from the cottage is breathtaking and a drive through the Tradouw Pass to Barrydale for lunch is highly recommended.

We loved staying in Dean's cottage. It was a shame we only stayed here one night as would have enjoyed relaxing here or cooking on the braai. It was a really cold day when we stayed and we appreciated it that Dean had the heating on ready for us and the fire was ready to go - so it was cosy. The bed was really comfy and the juices and coffee were appreciated thanks.

Great cottage, all new, spacious and comfortable. Also, I loved meeting Sebastian, Daisy and Amy (the three donkeys residing in the state). The estate is secured and it has parking inside of the estate. Dolittle cottages left us a few carrots 🥕 in the fridge in case we wanted to feed the donkeys and some macadamia nuts to crack.

The Upper Deck has a large open-plan lounge. The kitchen is fully stocked. There is a washing machine as well as a dining table. The rooms are very comfortable with a ceiling fan and heater when needed. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower. On the deck are 6 chairs and a table with enough space for 6 people to eat outside or just relax. Secure parking is in front of a garage under the deck. A delicious breakfast was available inside the beautiful house.

Sandy’s place is in a great position in Barrydale. Easy to find and very safe. Everyone was incredibly helpful at the property, including help with my very first braai. The room was cleaned every day and sheets were changed regularly. The swimming pool came in very handy when it became hot.
